For those who play, what is your main instrument? I'm wagering there are a lot of guitar players here... (Also testing poll function)

Mostly guitar, also bass. When I play in folk bands I also play mandolin and 4 string banjo. I played flute as a kid but now it hurts my cheeks to play for too long.

Was playing rhythm guitar. Switched to keys. I can play along to 3 BOC songs: Stairway, Burnin', and Subhuman (OYF version, albeit I don't have the keyboard solo down). Working on the solo in Priest's Hell Bent for Leather.

Bass normally. On the last Lizardz record, I played most of the bass. Weavil played bass on three tracks and I played rhythm guitar or mandolin on those three.

Guitar mostly these days, but I've also had bass as my primary instrument for stretches. I also sing lead & backup. Some keyboards, but my chops have seriously slipped there.

Mostly bass; my band is making me sing and play now which has been an interesting adjustment.

Guitar, I play classical, rock, blues, and some rockabilly. I also play Hammond Organ, Keys, Bass, and Mandolin. Teach guitar, bass, and Mandolin 4 days a week, play out nearly every weekend, lately more keys and organ than guitar. Everyone is looking for a blues organ player.

My interest has always been behind the mixing counsel. I have absolutely no talent when it comes to playing any instruments what so ever. Alan Parsons is sort of a hero of mine in that he actively encourages people to take an interest in production. I had the opportunity to spend a few minutes with Mr Parsons earlier this year. He was doing a work shop in Chicago. I wished him good luck with his class and that I would not be attending as my skills are lacking. He offered me these words of encouragement. "Its not so hard, anyone can do it." I thought to myself, right, yeah, says the man who recorded Pink Floyd and The Beatles. I still thought that was nice of him to say. I really would like to get some training in 5:1 and other more elaborate mixing. Back in the day I used to use a Fostex 4 track to make my own quadraphonic mixes. I had to use to stereo amplifiers for playback.

I used to play piano for two years from 2007 until 2009. However, I am taking interest in instruments again, which includes: Keyboard/Regular Piano - Yes, also meaning a return to piano. This time though, I would actually like to reeducate myself. I messed around with the piano just for fun than out of serious commitment when I was kid prior to piano lessons, and I picked it up pretty good by memorizing the songs just from listening to them than through music sheets. Drum set - I remember messing around for fun for a little while when I was kid, and found it to be pretty fun. Too bad it would soon end up being sold, though. Saxophone - I was really fascinated by the instrument as a kid and wanted to learn how to play that, but got really discouraged after being told I had to start off with the flute, which I found to be pretty damn ridiculous. Guitar - This one, I'm teaching myself very slowly. I already have an acoustic guitar at home.

Mostly Rhythm Guitar and a little bit of "Stun" Guitar as BOC puts it. I'll fill in on bass or vocals if I have to but I don't too much.
