There was a special limited-time display at the Baroque exhibits featuring some of Rembrandt's portraits:

Here's the Northern Baroque art. When I took Western Art History (Renaissance-Modern Art) last semester and had to read the chapters on Southern and Northern Baroque, I was quite fascinated by the history behind it that lead to those art genres, and I'm quite leaning towards Northern Baroque.

Here's the Southern Baroque art. I don't have a whole lot to share, because by the time I got to this part of the museum, my camera's memory card got full, so I had to start taking pictures from my phone.

I wanted to check out the main photography exhibit while I was visiting, but was pretty bummed to find that it was closed. I did however come across a couple mini photography galleries like this one:

This one particular exhibit is interesting! It's basically an exhibit of miniature rooms.

Last displays I'll put here; all of which were found in random exhibits: Part of a series of glass orbs at the paperweight gallery. My friends in the original Chicago Stock Exchange trading room. Head bust in the hallways nearby where the entrance to the contemporary art wing is. Earthenware/Teaware found in a small room where the Baroque art was. British tobacco box and French coffer found while looking through the Medieval/Renaissance galleries.

Very cool. The Art Institute and Museum of Contemporary Art are must-sees whenever I'm in the Chicago area.

I've only been to the Art Institute. Never visited the Museum of Contemporary Art before, though that might be another museum trip down the road.
