Some unintended research shows that is more like 156,000 men and women (plus non-binary people) world-wide everyday. Say your prayers, take your vitamins, and try to be good little Hulkamaniacs, mmm’kay?

duckbarman is right. Most gun deaths are suicides.
I wonder how the figure edog references reflects the difference in world population today compared to 1975. I just took a wild guess (and I needed a figure I could sing in four syllables) then.

Might have picked it up by osmosis and regurgitated it through song...?

On that link you provided, "Handsome Harry" seemed quite certain: "No, I'm certain that BOC was wanting to be very precise in their demographics, and did extensive research to make sure that they were not giving out spurious information. Certain of it. Certain..."> Not sure how Daltry or Pete are authorities on this subject. I think Pete's expertise lies in other areas :-( (still - apparently - it was only for "research purposes", so maybe I'm being a little unkind...) > duckbarman is right. This, of course, is axiomatic, and should go without saying... :-)

I thought it was 120,000. 40,000 "Like Romeo and Juliet" + 40,000 couples (men & women) and then on top of that another + 40,000 I guess just random people...?? Plus it even crossed my mind that another 40,000 "coming" every day was a typo....

Could it have been 40,000 when Romeo and Juliet was written? Around 1591? Population was around 545,000,000 to 579,000,000. And Mortality was higher then, as well... Average Lifespan of 40 years....
579,000,000 divided by 365 Days divided by 40 is
39,658.
Another 39,658 Coming Every Day. Hmmm... :-)

That would have been a fun one to make fit in for perfect number of syllables!!

If the population was 584,000,000, it would be exact
