You must have seen a fair few examples of people covering BOC songs down the years - just wondering which ones might have specially caught your eye, and what is it you liked about them...
For example, my own favourite is this:
I appreciate this one more than any of the others simply because of the sheer fun that radiates from it...

Buck, what do you think of these guys covering Goin' through the motions? Obviously Godzilla had a damaging effect upon the burgeoning rock n roll scene too.

In a former life I was a videographer. I was working on a project with Skid Row and went on tour with the band to Japan. In their set was a very fast and heavy cover of Godzilla which they thought the fans would "get" Now Japan is an unusual place to play, the shows are very early (headline act 5,6pm) and the audience remain seated even to headbang, cheer, clap, fist pump the air etc (really bizarre) After the show at a band meet and greet I smiled when a fan said to Snake Sabo "I velly much enjoyed Brue Oyster Cult godzirra" It seems the song wasn't lost on them after all.....

Buck, what do you think of these guys covering Goin' through the motions? I don't know what to make of it. Maybe I should ask "Johnny" from "Airplane." What do you make of this, Johnny? But I'm happy that they did cover it!

Off the top of my head, my fav Reaper cover is Big Country's, but there's other good ones, Beautiful South comes to mind. Alice Band's version is pretty good. For Burnin' for You, I love both Shiny Toy Guns' version and Lisa Marie Presley's version.
For Godzilla (and Reaper,) there's Apollo 440, and this BOC/Biggie Smalls mashup:
Then there's the Minutemen version of "The Red and the Black."
All good. If I've left any out, let me know. I honestly have not heard all the covers out there.

Big Country's Reaper is pretty good.Marshall Crenshaw did one too I liked and I'm pretty sure Wilco did one that was good too. I like Lisa Marie Presleys BFY My fave BOC cover is probably the Espers Telepaths which sounds like the Sandy Denny Fairport Convention on acid.
