Happy 4th of July to all; who knows when this too will be considered historically offensive, it's only a matter of time...celebrate it while one still can.

But what...?! The USA isn't perfect, it's history certainly isn't.But, to not recognize all it's done for the world, is naive at best.I talk to immigrants, people from all over the world, they can't believe anyone would think otherwise. My wife, her family, aren't from here. They know how much better their lives are, since they came here. Some American's tend to lose sight of what they have here.Politics notwithstanding, the US is still a haven for anyone in the world.WW I & WWII world champs, thankfully.

The English are entitled to some proprietary feelings about the Colonies. In spite of the war of indepenence, Americans still have a love for and kinship with England, of all the the countries on earth.

Re Stitsels comment:
"WW I & WWII world champs, thankfully"
Sorry to rain on your flag flying conceit.
USA arrived late in the day on both occasions. Without their input we'd be making Nazi salutes for sure. BUT by the time the US intervened in WWII, Allied troops were on their knees. Exhausted and demoralised by (some) poor leadership and losses of friends & relatives as well as years of combating an incredibly efficient German Army, they had kept the enemy at bay.
My own uncle was bombed and buried alive for three hours at Dunkirk. He survived by being trapped on top of an air bed, from which he could subsidise survival via an air intake. This notion of USA being Europes saviour is utter nonsense, they simply helped swing the balance - OTOH same uncle his own brother were more afraid of American friendly fire than of Axis troops. So stop reading into Stephen Ambrose and Hollywoods ridiculous accounts please.
US and European troops along with Euro resistance folks deserve credit, not just U.S. - all of them!
Rant over - Respect to Americas INPUT.

...and from the countries I've visited, Denmark and Norway are the best. USA is in the middle. Turkey and Australia are before you.
