Thank goodness for Frontiers actually supporting the band and promoting them. What a concept. Is it any wonder Sanctuary folded? A record label can't sell records if they don't promote the damn things.

Talking of Dick Wagner, here's a 1972 link to BOC and his band Ursa Major - with Jeff Beck headlining, it would have been quite the guitar fest that evening... (Well I say "BOC" - according to this ad, it was actually the infamous "Blue Oyster Colt" tribute band who played this particular gig)... one possibly interesting tidbit: I remember reading that Billy Joel played keyboards for Ursa Major but left before they recorded their album in 1973... although I dunno for sure if he was still in them when they played this show, but it looks like he may have been... BTW: Here's a BOC item of trivia to file away under "Damn!! Really...?" The BBA and BOC sets - and at least one other gig that weekend - were professionally recorded by Ron and Howie Albert of Criteria on their 16-track mobile... a while ago I emailed them and asked "do you still copies?" and they said no - they'd turned their tapes over to the record company after the event... it's the same old story... on a dusty old shelf in some disused basement, a reel or two of potential BOC audio gold is slowly oxidising it's precious contents into the unforgiving darkness... unless, of course, the tapes were sent off to the Mountain for long-term storage...?

Even Columbia didn't really understand or know how to sell us. After 4+ decades, that job is a little easier. Hats off to Frontiers so far.

That would have required a little too much thinking for them IMO if the record guys are as dumb as the tv guys who have almost no conviction on projects they don't see immediate results with you've pretty much been left to your own devices.

I'm grateful Columbia stuck with us for 3+ years and album budgets before we went Gold with "On Your Feet." In the day, Columbia signed you to a 7 record contract and they were in it for the long haul, even if they didn't know exactly what they had to sell.
Frontiers were frankly blown away by "The Symbol Remains" and so far the reaction to the two tracks has been strong and positive. I have no expectation of the pop charts, but so far so good.

Love the humor and style of the video. Spinal Tap reference and Albert on cowbell, paying homage to the cliches. Awesome production as usual from Richie.

Albert looked like he was trying to break the cowbell or maybe just mimic Gene Frenkie.Well I pre-ordered it along with two Jack Ryan books.Buck-never say never on commercial success Frontiers seems to be totally behind you so perhaps they'll put a little extra behind the record(hey I can say record again). Here's hoping. Then maybe someone will put a light up Mr Rolling Stone's ass.It would be cool to see you and Supertramp get in to the HOF the same year.

Youre competing with WAP now.... I that song.... I can't even comprehend why it exists other than the fact that 2020 is just THAT much of a farce. You know it's funny, I've gotten some comments about my love for Frank Zappa about his vulgarity, but NOTHING of his EVER reached the levels I heard in in WAP. I'm not in any way prudish and I have the foulest mouth of anybody I know.... but there's a limit, and WAP is on the other side of it.

I told Albert at the video shoot he had just the right amount of Gene Frenkle going.
