Some of the colored vinyls have already started shipping! The green one should arrive here before the regular ones (Amazon's delayed until the 13th for some reason). I'm going to set up my Crosley in the living room, attach it to my stereo, and blast that sucker loud enough to shake the front windows! If the neighbors ask what that noise is, I'll tell them "that was me."

I got a notification that my green LP was delivered at 5:47 today and was left on my front step/porch. That notification came through at 8:20. I was home ALL day. I even checked the mail at around 6:30. NOTHING. So, either they brought it back to the post office without leaving a slip (as sometimes happen), or it was stolen, since I live in a city and that isn't exactly a rarity. If it was the former, I will just be relieved to finally get it. If it was the latter, I am going to be writing my postmaster an unhappy, some would say Karen-esque "Take Me To Your Manager" type letter. This is what I hate. I am home all day and I have four dogs who bark at the door when somebody knocks, even softly. NOBODY knocked. I was home and I was awake and so were the dogs. If they delivered it at all, it wasn't done properly, and now I may be out of a collectible that I paid quite a bit for with shipping.
I sincerely hope it is just that they took it back to the post office and didn't leave a slip. If that's the case, no harm no foul when I finally get it. But I am not happy. I wanted to spin this record as soon as I got it. Thank goodness for the digital downloads I suppose.

The one time, I did eventually receive the missing package, the other time I just got a letter that the carrier had re-traced their steps and couldn't find the package. Since then, I have signed up for the USPS Informed Delivery, so I know what mail and packages are coming each day. If I am home on the delivery day, when I see the mail jeep coming down the street, I will go out and wait by the mailboxes (we have cluster boxes where I live) and ask the carrier for my package. Some of the carriers ask for photo ID, so I make sure I have it with me. I also have the tracking number in case they need to look it up. Good luck. I hope you get your package soon.
