Agreed Ocean,Have listened to both about 5 times as loud as my neighbors can stand at 3 A.M.(no ones knocking on my door thankfully) and really are into both tunes-always takes awhile to get the total feel and vibe because of the changes but I'm loving both tunes.Andrea True's More More More is rolling around in my head right now LOL.These two along with The Only Thing which has already become a total knockout favorite has me totally freaked.Could BOC possibly put The Only Thing out as a non LP single? After this one of course gets its just due commercially.WOW!!!! I can't wait to hear it all on a record, on great headphones and completely uncompressed. Love that churning riff in Box in My Head, and the way That Was Me just charges forward with that immediate heavy opening riff reminds me of the heaviness of the opening riff to Still Burnin'. The Box in my Head riff just keeps pulling the song forward, too. Shit, I need to listen a few more times before work haha

Fantastic! Man, That Was Me is killer, fantastic EB tune. Great opener to an album. And then Box In My Head has that soaring feel to it. Wonderful. I can't wait to hear the rest of the album. Meanwhile, I will have these on repeat.
Man, who'd have thought....

"That Was Me" is Richie, Eric and John Shirley. Richie plays the middle solo in the reggae section and I do the fills around the singing and the outro. EB sang a great vocal. "Box" is me and John Shirley. No leads in it, but lots of little parts, there's some keys in the background.
"That Was Me" is a logical opening cut, but it's just the beginning of the record. There's 14 cuts and no filler, in my opinion. Glad the first impression is good. How about Jules and Danny? Everyone brought it on this recording. There's some nifty guitar interplay on the cuts. Richie shines, and I'm all for it.

Love both! Someone posted that there are samples of every song, on iTunes. Very fresh, but hints of classic BÖC. Especially my reaction, it’s like opening presents, and figuring out lyrics, and liking it more, each time I hear it.

Jules has done a really good job ! (not enough keys but it may be caused by the compression)

Heard Box on the interveiw in the truck yesterday and am gassed.
Havent listened to That Was Me or the other samples. I told myself I wanted to wait for the 70's LP experience and spin it at home for first listen of the album so Im gonna try try try and hold out...and stay with the Box only listen.
Got to say...It Aint Easy holding back....I will tell you that. We will see....

I'm hearing some Here Comes That Feeling Again(and some Dream Police at the start, maybe) in Box In My Head of course with the usual it is but it isn't differences.I thought the Eric "Hey Saint Peter" vocal part at the end of the solo in That Was Me was a pretty cool move.I'm at around ten times now for both tunes and really getting a great feel for both-they're both IMO great.

Don't Fear The Reaper has been superseded by Watchout For The Mousetrap.

sneak previews from iTunes: six lead vocals for Buck, five for Eric, three for Richie (to my ear. might be wrong). think I'm going to like Florida Man and The Alchemist, for different reasons. mixed feelings: some tracks are too heavy for my taste, but I have to agree it's sounding like a solid record (can I judge from 30-second snippets? probably not) wrote an in-depth review of the first two tracks, spurred by the heat of the moment, but I'm not sure I'm going to feel like posting it
really wish to hear as many new songs as possible live next year in Ole Europe (plus Deadline and Damaged! and After Dark, for what it's worth)

On vacation, and at midnight until about 1:45, was dealing with one of the three dogs climbing the walls during a thunderstorm. Saw the time, remembered that the new tunes were being released after midnight, and went on to Apple Music to listen.
But with fresh ears this morning, listened again, and again, and again, and am absolutely loving what I’m hearing. Especially Box In My Head. Sounds like a “Summer” song, Buck’s sprite vocal and driving guitar, somewhat reminiscent of Here Comes That Feeling, only better. Will comment more after further listens later. Indeed, what a great time to be a BOC fan.
