From the photograph, Kevin Sheets could have been the guitar tech from the early '70's who wanted to replace Allen Lanier. But that was BOC, not SWU, and not in Indiana. If he was, then what was the story of the Floridian who died in that Albany commuter flight crash? It's a headscratcher. And why do these stories emerge only in their obituaries? It's the only way they can become "ghost" members?

Ha that's funny. I was in another band once. It was Brewer, Shipley and Dharma. Then there was Hamilton, Joe Frank, Dharma and Reynolds. Yeah I remember that band they had the hit Don't Pull Your Bull Out On Me Bucky. Dan Hamilton's brother Judd Hamilton was in the T-Bones who recorded No Matter What Shape Your Stomachs In . He was also married to Caroline Munro British actress.

I think Duckbarman nailed it. Tall tales to impress others becomes part of the legacy. I wonder if something similar might not show up on a head stone or two. In High School in Queens Simon and Garfunkel recorded as Tom and Jerry and Ocean.Or was that Danny Ocean .Or was I dreaming the whole thing.

Their mashup hit "Caribbean Queen of Corona" was spectacular.

This behavior is not uncommon for people with a certain personality profile (I'm being charitable here). I've personally seen this before with individuals who, at the end of their productive life, feel obligated to show friends and family members that they lived a notable and worthwhile life despite their rather lowly and uneventful existence, and this is not only for people who have a tenuous connection to the arts. There are individuals that claim to have been in public safety while they only were volunteers, some claim to have been prominently in the medical field while having only served in the form of support or administrative staff; the most blatant of these is those that engage in the stolen valor phenomenon.
