Well, they got that wrong. The off stage guy foreshadowed the final verdict before Metallica's version even started playing. Eric's vocals, the neo-classical ivories, and Buck's phrasing are too much for Metallica to match. MHO. While acknowledging that musical taste is subjective, I just don't see a reasonable argument for how Astronomy is better by Metallica. Maybe if we were talking which is the better metal song, since Astronomy isn't metal lol. But my goodness, the Metallica version has no sense of restraint or subtlety. Albert's drumming versus Lars should be a no-brainer. And heck, the Some Enchanted Evening version? Holy moly!

There are many things on youtube that I don't understand - why would I want to see someone unboxing or gift-wrapping presents, or cleaning their house, or ironing their clothes or unpacking their shopping etc etc - the internet has always been championed as the great leveller - it's allowed us, the proles, aka the "great unwashed", to become producers/content creators rather than mindless consumer drones but 95% of what I see on youtube seems to advance the opposite argument...
Add "Reaction" videos to the LONG list of things that I don't understand on youTube...

I love these-I really like the two college kids reaction videos but truthfully Fil from Wings Of Pegasus is the best because he's an actual guitar teacher and vocal teacher and does an incredible job of breaking things down.He does only live performances and his ear is impeccable. Fil's video belongs here more than any of the others, so:

This one is hilarious. I was done with this thread, but Burning For You as devil worship? The youtube comment section has people putting the boys in league with Lucifer.

For those decrying the entire concept, I can totally see why this wouldn't appeal to you. But, the fact is that it appeals to quite a LOT of people, which is why many of these videos have a very large audience. While popularity isn't a measure of quality, it DOES say that there is something positive that many people are getting out of it. That's just where I'm coming from; I love these videos.

I'm glad that popularity is taken as no indicator of the correct course that should be undertaken...

That's cool and all, but I'm talking about a form of entertainment people enjoy without harming another soul, not a moral or political view that endorses or defends the taking of life. There is no "course" to be determined by the popularity of people making and watching these videos. My only point was, and I acknowledged that its popularity didn't mean it was good, that there are people who see value in this and get entertainment from it, including me. Not liking or even hating it is of course valid, too, and I'm not saying it isn't.

The best part of this reaction in my opinion is that he gets the story. Years ago I played the oyf version for a musician friend of mine and I thought his first reaction would be Bucks playing, which of course he was praising, but it was the story that hooked him. He's been a huge Buck fan ever since!

The true extent of BOC engagement of these 'fans' is summed up as follows - Don't forget to hit like and subscribe!
If anyone truly thinks otherwise...

As to Chod (Wilburn reactions) that is so NOT true. He *loves* Blue Oyster. (He often leaves the "Cult" out.) Dude gives serious props to Albert regularly (being a drummer) and routinely emphasizes how they bring different stuff to each song, the transitions within the songs, and he does super deep cut reviews: Sun Jester: Black Blade: GAL: Subhuman (OYF version): Just go to his channel. He's a huge fan and he really loves reviewing BOC. He may have reviewed half the catalogue by now.
