Just pre ordered Re-Imaginos from Merch Bucket. Really looking forward to hearing it & hoping it's as good as TSR.

That robot voice REALLY takes me out of the song; it just doesn't fit with the other instrumentation and the whole vibe.

I like the instrumental, but I too have to agree that the robot voice is so out of place. The vocals overall in fact really could have been better-polished.

I really wanted to like this song, I suppose that I do, and Blue Oyster Cult is the strongest song off of Imaginos. I think fans of the Brain Surgeons would like it better.

I would have loved this but for that robot voice. It's like when somebody makes cake but puts fondant decorations all over it. Don't put inedible shit on something that's meant to be eaten. Also don't put in sound effects and filters that don't in any way fit with the rest of the song. My favorite song on the original Imaginos was The Siege... etc. Yes, it has a session vocalist, but that RIFF, the story, the epic quality, etc. Blue Oyster Cult, Magna of Illusion, I Am the One You Warned Me Of., and In The Presence of Another World kick ass, too.

Just listened to the whole thing and I really like it. I think Del Rio's Song is even better than the original. All in all a worthwhile purchase for any BOC fan!

I went the other way on this, I don't like it but then the Brain Surgeons weren't my cup of tea either. Albert's voice is interesting, he still has that kind of whine to it but now it sounds shaky but doesn't lose pitch. I'm kind of glad for a different version of Astronomy and could really see that as a beach campfire type of song.
Does anyone know where to find an actual break down of what the Imaginos story is about? I continue to don't get it.

I watched the Blue oyster cult video Albert posted. Lots of glamour shots of Albert. It's good, but.. Not sure I need a reworking of Imaginos. Fans may say otherwise, I know they're out there.

The original I find to be underrated, while I know it has detractors. Definitely an album that I listen to every few months. The original is better BUT I will say that Albert's version of Del Rio’s Song is nothing short of beautiful and I believe it manages to exceed the original, and the album itself is very enjoyable. Taken on its own merit it's interesting and fun: flawed but nevertheless highly listenable.

Some of the songs from Imaginos (In The Presence, I Am The One You Warned Me Of etc.) sounded fantastic live back in the day.
