Albert needs a big band for something like that. And we need to get rid of COVID.

I personally see no problem with Albert releasing his own version of Imaginos, the fans are going to listen to whichever they prefer. Choice is always good from a fan's perspective.

I'm good with it. Albert put a lot of heart into it. Both in 1981 and now.

Got mine Monday! I have to say I like it. To me it doesn't compare to the original for the most part, except for the new version of Del Rio’s Song which I think is sublime.

I enjoyed hearing the BŌC versions of Imaginos songs, live, those were great tours.

Seems like BTO was one of the openers? There was also some great shows in St. Louis, around that time. Westport Playhouse.

Martso-Maybe Buck can fill us in but I recall reading an article where BOC was going to do ALL of Imaginos and then add classics afterwards like they did with both Agents and the first record shows. They were supposed to do a show at New Yorks Beacon Theater(AKA The House Of the Allman Brothers)with Robin Trower opening but CBS pulled back support for the record and the show never happened.I was pretty darn upset about it.Would have been great hearing the whole record done live and seeing Trower again as I had seen him at MSG in '75.Wishbone Ash opening.Until the AOF show at BB Kings the only time I saw anyone perform a whole album was Supertramps first tour here doing all of Crime Of The Century with my free WNEW-FM Row L orch tickets.

The recent Toads 89 show video circulating on youtube covers some live BOC Imaginos played and are played well. Good raw live vibe recording.
We watched that vid Friday nite on the big screen here and really enjoyed the energy of what has drawn us to this band for so long.
It reminded me how much Allens keyboards rocked in this band. He added a loose but great layer in the guitar blend as well.
Also I admittedly had forgotten just how fun Ron Riddle was on drums in the live show in that period.

The band was never keen on doing all of Imaginos live. It was never our record, the individual songs aside. We finished it so Columbia would release it as a favor to Sandy Pearlman, and indirectly, Albert. Also, we'd probably not do a good job on "Siege," and Eric bristled at my version of "Astronomy," because it was traditionally Eric's moment in the BOC set, and Sandy Pearlman had had Eric sing the Imaginos version too. The first time he heard my voice on it was when the record was released. We'd done separate stints in SF to finish Imaginos with Sandy at Hyde St. studio. So there was never enough enthusiam within the band membership to make it happen.

I saw the band at a small club in Augusta GA the week before the album came out. Was shocked to hear the new version of Astronomy, since I hadn’t heard the record yet. Liked it for sure.
