It wasn't until after Secret Treaties that I realized the original title of "The Subhuman" was "Blue Oyster Cult." When we were scrambling for a band name, after getting the green light from Columbia Records, that's where Sandy Pearlman got it.

I've been listening to Reimaginos for a few weeks now & it gets better with every listen. I'm starting to think that it may well be a classic. Bring on Minus Zero & Counting.

Does it make me a disloyal fan in that I really don’t like Imaginos at all? Honestly, Not trying be jerk, but I just never cared for it.. Don’t think I ever will.

I mean, a lot of people don't consider it a BOC album at all, so who knows? Lol. I think it's a really good (if poorly mixed) album that happens to have parts on it played by members of BOC. You've got fans who swear it was all downhill after the B&W era and other who swear they really hit their stride after Agents. I don't think it can be considered disloyal to have an album you don't like. If being a BOC fan has taught me one thing about music loves it's that we all have VERY strong opinions lol 😆 🤣

The music of BOC is so diverse even hardcore fans are going have songs or even albums that they don't like as much as others. I would say even on BOC's "lesser" albums (you choose) there is always something good.
In terms of the original Imaginos the album was clearly flawed. The sound was muddy (although cleaned up on later versions) & the guest vocalist to my ears anyway didn't add anything. But the album has got to be at least of interest to BOC fans because of its part in the history & evolution of the band. It's also worth having for the versions of I am the One, Les Invisibles & Del Rios Song all three of which are fantastic. It is also worth pointing out that when the band toured the album & played songs from it live they sounded great, better in fact than the album.
In terms of Re Imaginos since hearing the demos posted online years ago I have been of the opinion that the original album was a enormous opportunity missed. I am overjoyed that Albert has persevered with the project & given us Re Imaginos, pretty much everything about it is better than the original & it sounds great. Also like most great albums its a grower, the more you listen the the more you get back & the better it gets.

I would not have said it better. I would definitely not have said it better. Definitely.

When Imaginos came out, I came to the conclusion that I was more interested in the concept of Imaginos than the actualisation of that concept I had spinning on my turntable... frankly, I didn't know what to make of it...

Yeah I kind of agree. The album does have it's moments but it is difficult to know to make of both it's execution & content. This is another reason that I am glad that Albert persevered with it & has given us Re Imaginos.
