But you gotta admit he knows how to rock a shower cap. Ha...to be fair, I’ve never heard much of their music, outside of the more popular stuff. I have a two disc compilation of theirs and I love most of what's on it. I've heard other stuff.... the compilation is enough lol

Like most bands of their era they have their moments & like most bands of their era the early stuff tends to be the best stuff.

I need to back peddle, a bit, on that comment. I haven’t heard enough of him, to make that comment, plus, I meant to say that I could (potentially learn to) play better than him. I do love Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers. Apologies to all Billy Gibbons lovers, out there!

I listened to FOUR albums by Grateful Dead today searching for a song for Deep Track of the Day, and I couldn't find a single one I liked. They are an extremely popular band with an intensely devoted following, so I guess it is unpopular to say that I think I do not like them, even a little. LMAO

My three favorite bands of the 70's were BOC,Supertramp and Fairport Convention.
I now love the song Honey by Bobby Goldsboro
I wish the radio had songs like Pepino The Little Mouse on again as part of a Top 40.
I've said this before The Four Seasons kicked as much ass as the Beatles and the Stones did.
Bon Jovi is mediocre music(but Jon's a Giant fan and that's cool).

My favorite Grateful Dead song is "Scarlet Begonias". I think it's romantic.

I love a lot of Plant's solo work. Much of it i like better than some of the stuff he did with Zeppelin. Tall Cool One, Big Log, Tye Die on the Highway, his covers of Sea of Love and If I Were a Carpenter, his remake of Down by the Seaside with Tori Amos, the album he did with Alison Krauss. Just adore it. I really liked Plant's "Twentynine Palms". I traveled back and forth from Twentynine Palms, CA too many times to remember. I can understand where he got some of the inspiration for his lyrics having been there in both the summer and winter. A group of guys I was with ate at an old rundown motel and cafe/bar one night pretty far away from the beaten path. Really good steaks though. Anyway according to the owner(?) Zep used to come out there and go into the desert to write some of their lyrics. No comment beyond that since all rumors or fish stories.

I will say this Plant's high wine hasn't aged well for me but his Honeydrippers stuff was good.He had the good taste to cover my fave Ben E King song Young Boy Blues altho it paled in comparison to the original.

I hated Physical Graffiti and Presence. When I was a young teen in the mid-70s and cash was hard to come by, an aunt gave me some money to buy a record so I bought Presence. They were playing Achilles Last Stand in the shop where I bought it. I kind of knew the earlier albums but wasn't that bothered, being the hardcore BOC fanboy at the time. I played Presence to death and loved every second, even the crap bits. It probably took me another 10-15 years before I bought any more Zepp, apart from Physical Graffiti which I got as a gift from a friend of mine who was entering the priesthood and was doing that "rid yourself of worldly chattels" thing. I never really liked Physical Graffiti, it seemed too funky for my tastes back then. Love it now.
