There are still songs that touch me coming out through today, though that's just one person's view. My friend Steve and I are both hard-core classic rock people but we are also fond of a lot of new music too, just not as much as we used to be I suppose. I love Phoebe Bridgers. My friend Adam is an encyclopedia of music knowledge and has a record collection so large that moving it took up an entire 10ft Budget rental. He's in it from Eric Dolphy to Taylor Swift.
I'll admit that there's plenty of music that makes me cringe, but I'm sure there are a lot of people of Gen Z too who FEEL the music as much as many of us did and continue to do.
The sheer number of young guitar players on YouTube gives me hope. And kids like Nandi Bushell feel a special connection to music in their soul. I hope that continues and the legacy of classic rock lives on, as well as the oppeness of classic rock fans to new music as well.

I've known some of the biggest collectors around my friend Steve had an overstock of 35K records.Back in the 80's I'd go to his house on a Friday night after the gym and spend hours taping his collection on 90 min cassettes basically pulling Labels off the shelf. We never went past the 70's and mostly it was the 50's and 60's.He had the SFG single on Elektra.Had the Beatles Butcher Block too.

My dad insists that the last good year for music was 1986. I'm definitely very different in that mindset. While I am a classic rock fiend, I'm also a fan of heavy metal, synthpop, modern alternative, folk, indie singer/songwriters, country, rap, jazz, blues, R&B, Memphis soul, and on and on and on.

Is there a tambourine in the background of Florida Man? Not to my ears, but I could be wrong. Lots of chiming guitar parts. Great song.

I wonder if consumers of today's music will treasure it in the way folks here obviously do their music, whether it's doo-wop, '60's pop, 70's album rock, 80's pop, etc. up to now. There's the odd modern song I hear that touches your soul, but to my ear they're rare. Too bad for them if music isn't as resonant for them as it is for me. Indeed. Here’s a new song that resonates with me.

"That Was Me" drew me into this record, and I find myself coming back to it frequently.

I hear it in the right channel, but that might be delay on a ride cymbal too. Listening on studio monitors.

I don't hear a tambourine on FL Man, although it's used on other of my tunes. I might have recorded one, but I can't hear it in Tom's mix. Even Jules' hi hat is soft, but in there.

But it's strange, I heard something that fills up the background, lightly, during the chorus. I made it a bit denser and better. IMO
