I still have my Sanctuary copies of Curse and Heaven Forbid. I rebought Cult Classic from them because my original copy went missing years back, but before I buy the former two from Frontiers, are they a remaster or just released with the original mixes? Do they sound any better than the original Sanctuary releases?

Don’t know, but I went looking and found my COTHM CD and put that on my phone. I also found the covers to HF and LDN so hopefully I will find the disks and be able to hear those again too.

remastered but quite obviously not remixed, they sound pretty much the same. just consider that Curse had been originally mastered with extreme care. if you bought Classics, then you can judge for yourself about the dynamics and the overall quality of Ivorytears Music Works, Italy
let's wait for ALDN which SHOULD have been entirely remixed by Richie as far as I know

I haven't heard them or compared them. My assumption is they'd be a one-to-one digital transfer of the original disk. It wouldn't be 'remastered' in the sense of digitally modifying or converting to analog and modifying the original CD's information unless there was some reason to do that, which I don't believe there was.

I'll stick with my original copies, then. But I sure as hell will buy a remixed A Long Day's Night; I'd like to hear what that album sounds like with a better mix.

Cult Classic's re-released sounds great. I haven't compared it to the original, but it holds up very will. I actually prefer the Cult Classic versions of Burnin' and Godzilla.

The vinyl copies of those records are another story. They'd have to be "mastered" for vinyl disks. The engineer would make asthetic as well as necessary for disk pressing decisions on how it sounded.

I should have jumped on those when they were still available but I didn't realize they would be a limited run. But sooner or later I'll find them out in the wild. I'm only missing those and Imaginos on vinyl right now.

I may be in the minority, but I loved the Classics record. I was always a big fan of that lineup (with Jon and Chuck) and loved hearing tunes like ETI and Telepaths recorded in their “live” iteration. It brings back good memories of their early ‘90’s shows.

I love it, too. Like I said, I even like two of the tracks more than the original versions. But I also just really enjoy the selection of tracks, too. It was great to have a studio version of Buck's Boogie (before we got the outtake version from Tyranny & Mutation).

This thread makes me Smile. Reminds me of Bolle, who is Second only to my Grandma, who taught English in Puerto Rico for 32 years, as the Ultimate Grammar Police. Heard Bolle many times correct folks "It is Cult CLASSIC, not Classics, like the Coca-Cola!" Well, I went to the Coca Cola Museum with Bolle. Sure enough, he found a Typo on their Wall. "Heroes" LOLOL

For me it's Astronomy and Buck's Boogie as close to the best versions of those songs.Funny but I never listen to Godzilla and Burnin' LOL.

"Heroes" LOLOL So true Chuck. One time I posted on AOhelL and I said something something ect... Bolle sent me a PM telling me it is “Etc” and that is was commonly misspelled too often. Haha At the Helen Wheels tribute (magical nite) he asked me where we were staying. It occured to me he had no place yet and offered he stay in the spare bed in our NYC tiny hotel room. Love him, miss him, but, that son of a bitch snores louder than anyone Ive ever witnessed. That info may save someone here a nites sleep sometime in the future......
