> Not necessarily in the New South
OK, well I'm not completely sure of the definition of "New South", but I CAN offer this advice.... if you ever find yourself being deprived of your trousers in the woods by a gentleman missing his two front teeth whilst being invoked to "squeal like a pig", then I can confidently assert that NOW is the time to panic...

Not music related, but Richard Donner who made an endless number of cinema classics such as Superman, The Omen, and Lethal Weapon, has passed away at 91.
He also made cult classics The Goonies (personally wasn't a fan but it's incredibly beloved by my generation) and Scrooged.
His last film was the underrated, in my opinion, 16 Blocks.

I absolutely LOVE Conspiracy Theory! I own the Carter Burwell score from it. I can't believe I forgot that was Richard Donner, too!

Goonies is fun & does what it set out to do. For some reason no one seems to have seen 16 Blocks which is fantastic.

I enjoyed it, but all the way through it I was thinking this is just the Gauntlet but with Bruce Willis and an unconvincing, cake-making witness with a VERY annoying voice...

Former Uriah Heep singer John Lawton has passed away at the age of 74.
Lawton was a member of the fold between 1976 and 1979, performing on three Heep studio efforts - 1977's "Firefly," 1977's "Innocent Victim," and 1978's "Fallen Angel."
The group wrote in a statement:
"It is with deep regret that we share the devastating and tragic news of the sudden and totally unexpected passing of John Lawton on 29 June 2021.
"Contrary to reports, there was no illness involved, which makes his passing incomprehensible.
"He went peacefully with his wife at his side. John will be greatly missed.
"A private funeral service to celebrate John's life will be held following his wishes, with only family and close friends attending.
"We would appreciate that the family's privacy is respected during this difficult time."
Rest in peace, sir.

Long time fan of John Lawton. I know him more from Lucifer's Friend, a band he did many records with. Great band, one of the earlier heavy rock bands that progressed to more prog and jazz influenced material, but still rocked. Also had a solo release. Never got a chance to see the band live, rarely came to the U.S.
