Yeah, Charlie Watts. Bummer. I guess we're not going to live forever. Stones' tour was cancelled for COVID last year, right? Who'd sub for Charlie if they wanted to continue? Can't think of anyone.

Yup Jordan played drums on All Tied Up.Cool.

Yes, Steve Jordan and Will Lee both played on "Flat Out," thanks to David Lucas organizing the session in 1981. Steve is a monster, I heard him on Saturday night live backing Al Green and nailing it. Also his work with John Mayer. I wonder if he'd like to drum for The Rolling Stones, I'm sure they'd make it worth his while if they wanted to tour again. But let's remember and revere Charlie, he was and will remain a huge part of the sound of the Stones, unlike the anonymous if not soulless metronomic beat of today's music.

I was introduced to his work through the John Mayer Trio, and I like him. I think he fits right in with the Stones' vibe if they choose to move forward. As for the "metronome beat," so much modern music lacks the spontaneity and improvisatory of the days of yore. I was listening to older Joe Jackson yesterday and it's amazing to me how RAW that sound was, when really almost nothing today has that feel. Even my favorite new stuff can sound stiff and scripted. It's great listening to Beatles records, many say the best band ever, and knowing how many little "mistakes" they left in. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE a lot of new music and I never tire of finding new acts, I just miss the days when humanity shone through more than digital perfectionism.

Steve Jordan has played on Keith Richards Solo stuff. I think they will continue with him at least for now. Don't see them calling it quits quite yet. They are coming here to my area October 4th.. Hopefully I can see them again.. This truly "Maybe The Last Time" ...

I used to watch reruns of Mary Tyler Moore when I was a kid. But quite honestly, my favorite Ed Asner role became Santa from Elf. There is something so wholesome and wonderful about that movie, and him being Santa was the most perfect casting. If anybody was born to play him, it was Ed Asner.
