Sad news about Skip... I remember seeing this piece not so long ago - apologies for the crimp along the bottom of page 1 - that's how it is on my copy unfortunately: BTW: Here's a portion of a chat with Albert mentioning Skip a few years back: Albert: Yes, Skip was in the band at this point - what happened was - we practiced one time and Donald wanted to be the singer, and I said, "Hey man, you can play guitar, but you're no singer - I can't even hear you - you're just mumbling into the microphone" - I said, "I got this guy in my dorm" who was one of these jam session guys who sang with the band, and we did not have a PA - we had two Fender Twin Reverbs which are 65/80 Watt amps...
David Hirschberg: Those were nasty treble yarghhhh - they'd rip your head off...
Albert: Yeah, they'd rip your head off and Skip would sing with no mike and you could HEAR him - that's how freakin loud this guy was, and I said, "that guy, now he's a singer"!! And also, he had a thing with the ladies - he was with a different girl every night... now he's an engineer, he works in Greenville, North Carolina for General Electric, I think, and has like seven kids and has been happily married for umpteen years... that's Skip O'Donnell...
David Hirschberg: I wonder if he sings in the shower?
Albert: As far as I know, yeah, he sings in the shower, but he didn't pursue music after college, he got a good engineering job, so... but he was a nice... bloke...[Laughs]....Obviously - and thankfully for all concerned - Albert's early assertion that Buck was "no singer" didn't pan out in the end... :-) - but I think he really probably meant "frontman" - a point of focus for the band, and it sounds like Skip was that... BTW: I've never ever heard anyone mention that tapes of Travesty might have existed - dunno if Buck actually recalls them ever doing so, at practice maybe...?

RIP Skip. That interview was an interesting piece. Ralph, here's page 1 without the cutoff at the bottom:
More my fault when I posted the interview a couple years ago, because I was vacationing and was having difficulty getting screenshots of the pages and uploading them. Sorry about that!

Thanks for that - and apologies for not crediting you above - I only had the 3 jpegs in a folder on my drive with no other info appended to them regarding where and when I got 'em - a lack which is now rectified! :-)

RIP Skip. And man, if his dad didn't like the lyrics to Brown Shoes Don't Make It, I hope he never heard any of the lyrics Zappa was doing 15 years later

RIP Skip. I would have loved to have heard him sing, it sounds like he might have been something special had he pursued a career in music.

Sadly Nicolette Larsen on vocals passed 20ish years back too. Great band.

Some good news for the thread, Richie Faulkner of Judas Priest just survived an aortic aneurysm and dissection, usually fatal if not caught early. He is a vlucky lucky man. Today's headlines could have been a lot different. <3
