Robin Lumley, 74
Jazz keyboardist with the British band "Brand X" which was formed in 1974 Brand X had a number of notable members over the years including guitarist John Goodsall, bassist Percy Jones and drummer Phil Collins.
To record their album Masques, drummer Chuck Burgi (of BĂC fame) replaced Phil Collins. This was the only album that did not feature Collins.

Bud Grant was one of the great NFL coaches period. The love and respect he commanded is legendary. He also played professional basketball on the 1950 NBA champions Minneapolis Lakers (later the LA Lakers). That's right! NBA champion who later went on to coach the Vikings to four Super Bowls. He coached championship CFL teams to championships, too. USA and Canada!
When the Vikings PR guy was assigned to pick up Grant at the airport after being hired as head coach the PR guy had no idea what he looked like. He was told "Don't worry. You will know. He will be the only guy getting off the plane that looks like the town marshal." LOL

Gary Rossington. Oh Man, DFTR I always love Skynyrd's song "That Smell". It was always on my "turn the radio up louder" list. I had no idea until tonight that the song was actually based on a car accident involving Rossington. "Not only does its lyrics acutely speak to the dangerous (and often-fatal) risks of substance abuse and addiction, but they capture a bit of the essence of the man who wrote them, vocalist Ronnie Van Zant. To that end, the story of the song itself is bookmarked by two unfortunate events: a car accident involving guitarist Gary Rossington and, ultimately, the infamous plane crash that would bring about the end of the original Lynyrd Skynyrd."The whole interesting story at: americansongwriter.com/that-smell-lynyrd-skynyrd-behind-song-lyrics-meaning/
