ok, it's trivia time.
with the recent Orlando show, the boys -under their three historical monikers (even if Buck made it clear that they were different bands in spirit and repertoire we might still assume there's some kind of continuity)- just entered their 55th year of uninterrupted touring since the fall of 1967.
there's only another band in the whole history of rock who did the same (they actually started in the spring of '67), although they haven't performed yet this year. it's a British band. does anybody know -or would like to guess- who they are?

hints: 1) debut concert May 27, 1967; 2) their family tree includes up to 25 members, ten of which are now dead; 3) only one founding member in the current line-up; he left the band in the 70's and then came back on board, though. another long-time member joined in 1969; 4) effectively disbanded 1979-1985 but performed reunion shows once a year during the hiatus.

So, Fairport Convention.

our French mate Frog's answer is correct. the only bands that performed 54 years straight without even a year-break were BOC and Fairports. FC has nine months left to draw the game with our favourite band

Got to see Fairport in '75 or '76 on the Rising For The Moon tour .With Sandy of course.
Saw them again at The Bottom Line in the 90's oh and saw them in '89 as opener for Tull as 2 or 3 members were in Tull at the time.
Fairport along with BOC and Supertramp were my fave bands back then.
