Punk Rock Trailblazers THE DICTATORS Release New Single 'Let's Get The Band Back Together' April 21, 2021 11 Comments FacebookTwitterPinterestRedditMore Punk Rock Trailblazers THE DICTATORS Release New Single 'Let's Get The Band Back Together' Play The dictators Called by critic John Dougan "one of the finest and most influential proto-punk bands to walk the earth," THE DICTATORS have released their first new music in 20 years. The group's three founding members, Andy Shernoff, Ross Friedman and Scott Kempner, are joined on drums by founding BLUE ÖYSTER CULT member Albert Bouchard, the man who played the infamous cowbell on "Don't Fear The Reaper". THE DICTATORS and the BLUE ÖYSTER CULT have known each other since the early days when they both shared the patronage of producer/manager Sandy Pearlman. www.blabbermouth.net/news/punk-rock-trailblazers-the-dictators-release-new-single-lets-get-the-band-back-together/

It's a fun track and all, but if you float the concept of "Let's Get The Band Back Together" and add Albert into that equation, then the 'Tators wouldn't be my first mental port of call...

Song is Ok; I'm more impressed with the fact that Albert has learned to live without sleeping.

Good enough. Their three seventies albums plus **** 'em If They Can't Take a Joke are all classics in my opinion.

I'm a fan, partly because of the loose association with BOC. They were funny and I love the NY vibe, and Ross the Boss had some good stuff. I think Buck told me Ross bought an old plexi from him.

Love Nils. too, Saw the I CAME TO DANCE tour with Pre-Steve Perry Journey as the warm up act (Old Century Theatre). Nils had that trampoline on stage. It's Not A Crime is an all-time fave.White Lies is another great Nils tune(Grin).Saw Nils three times.Saw him headline the Palladium with John Miles and then unknown 38 Special(filling in for Pablo Cruise)and then saw him open for Rick Derringer in Central Park.
Nils and Pre-Perry Journey must have been a terrific bill.
