lots of notes I never heard before, even in the Remasters... (Astronomy, Morning Final, Nosferatu, the holy trilogy of Joe's BÖC tracks)
and what an awesome Buck solo. Perfect. (Should have been longer though.)

lots of notes I never heard before I enjoyed the treatment, but in a couple of places, I think there was a few extra flourishes that weren't needed, perhaps to "fill in space"... for me, sometimes, less is more... I have never understood why this track didn't become a BOC live staple - I understand from Bolle that Nosferatu was only tried out live on a handful of occasions in July 1978 (eg Johnstown PA, right after BOC had returned from their Euro tour - why couldn't they have tried it out then?? ) and I seem to recall Joe once saying he had problems singing it live on top of playing bass - to which I can only say: try harder!!! It's a wonderful track and I'd love it if it had been featured on, say, "Some Enchanted Evening"...

It was played during the Helen Wheels Tribute show in a "3ÖC" formation (but not the one we were used to) and well, Joe sang it without a sweat (but playing guitar, not bass). and what a solo...

I love the way that solo ends. Begging for a resolution but holding on that suspended note

Playing bass and singing (lead) is extremely difficult. Look at the ones that do it and do it well - McCartney, Sting, Lake, Wetton; this is elite company.
BTW, I've often wondered if that string sound on Nosferatu was a Mellotron; I thought Sam mentioned once that it was a Freeman.

I like the bats in the video. 'Specially in these last days of COVID. We never recorded a Mellotron. Probably a Freeman string synth.

Nosferatu is a BOC classic no question about that, likewise Buck's solo is up there with his best. It's also one of a list of BOC classics never or rarely played. See also Mistress of the Salmon Salt, Baby Ice Dog, Cagey Cretins, Vera Gemini, Shadow of California etc.

The original song is so mood filled and perfect and powerful….. this version makes it sound noisy loosing some of that magic.
Always great to hear it regardless !
Great memory of the Helen Wheels nite where it was played. First time seeing Joe and Albert play with Buck in a long time.
During the day before going to Don Hill’s for the show we went to the 9-11 site to pay tribute. The embers were so deep they were still smoldering in a few spots and this was months later. Incredibly sad and very erie. Thankfully the Helen show was a ton of fun.

Also got to see rarities like Teen Archer and Unknown Tongue

I was knocked out when Lips in the Hills made an unexpected reappearance a few years back though. Now thinking of Cultosaurus Monsters would be another one for the seldom/never played list.

Also got to see rarities like Teen Archer and Unknown Tongue Monsters would be another one for the seldom/never played list. Sam Judd on the 28 Jul 1980 El Paso gig: Although I think they might have played it twice, I can only remember goin thru all the hassle to play Monsters once... I had to move one of the mini-moogs so Bloom could cover the horn parts on it and it was in El Paso Texas..
Bolle later sent me this setlist for El Paso, confirming its inclusion: 01 Dr Music 02 ETI 03 Monsters 04 Unknown Tongue 05 Cities On Flame 06 Marshall Plan 07 Divine Wind 08 Me262 09 Hot Rails To Hell 10 Black Blade 11 Godzilla 12 5 Guitar Medley (Mark III) 13 Born to be Wild 14 (Don't Fear) The Reaper So - it was played at least once - the soundboard tape was later handed over to Mr S, and has now disappeared into the black hole of those tracks he would designate as "not worthy of an official release" so therefore must be withheld from anybody ever hearing it... as to why that would be the case...? Well, there you have me... I have zero clue...

as I said before, "not worthy of an official release" ? let us be the judge of that, Steve...
