Thank you for the solo from Hollywood Fl 1981. My absolute top favorite solo of all time. There are notes and phrasing’s in that solo that literally bring tears to my eyes. Just had to say thanks.

I think we're just fortunate that the recording trucks were there that night to capture it... EVERY aspect of that solo's differing sections gelled wonderfully into one cohesive and sublime example of why we all loved BOC at the time - even if they HAD just fired Albert two months earlier... #bummer
However, and somewhat strangely, I admit, and being a glass half-empty sort of person, it also makes me slightly sad... it makes me think of all those potentially wonderful solos and performances that weren't captured down the years, their energy spent and lost amongst the rafters of whatever hall they were playing at the time, never to be heard again...
BTW: My next favourite Buck solo is OYF's "Last Days"... there's no mad shredding or anything like that, (as it later morphed into in more recent times), just a very emotive and emotional treatment where EVERY note counted... I'd love to know what gig it was recorded at...

It's a great performance. Interestingly I was thinking about my favourite Buck solos recently. It's tough, there are so many to chose from & leaving aside the obvious; I know we all continue to be amazed/enraptured by the solos in The Reaper & Astronomy but what about the less well known? It was difficult but I have whittled my list down to these solos; Dominance & Submission from ST, Last Days of May from OYFONYK,The Revenge of Vera Gemini, This Ain't the Summer of Love & Sinful Love from Agents & finally I Love the Night from Spectres. Yes I know it's a bit of a list but as I said it was tough to get to this point & all the solos's I have picked are each very different. I should also say that I find most of the playing on Symbol astonishingly good, it's just to early to add anything to the above at this point, although I have at least three possibilities. So what are your lesser heard/known Buck favourites?

So what are your lesser heard/known Buck favourites? There is a live version of Wings Wetted Down on YouTube that has a surprisingly awesome solo. I never would've expected Wings Wetted Down, of all of BOC's songs, to have a solo section similar to that of the live version of Astronomy. The Vigil is another awesome one I haven't seen on this thread (yet).

So what are your lesser heard/known Buck favourites? The sounds and effects on the guitar in the Agents/Spectres era make them very special, but I probably love the two Tenderloin solos as the best dark horse favorites for me. Maybe Nosferatu as well.
