(Don’t Fear) The Reaper gets play on part two: Fear Street 1978. The 1st part is Fear Street 1994. The third part (which I don’t think is out yet) will be 1666. If you haven’t watched these, check them out. They’re not for kids though; profanity, gore, etc. Reminiscent of the 80’s slasher movies but far superior. I think the story will keep you coming back.

Already on my list to check out. I love a good horror movie. Emphasis on good tho. Watched a few duds recently.
Watched Saint Maud which was very critically acclaimed but.... I mostly just was glad when it was over.
Watched the latest Conjuring movie on HBO Max which was serviceable. Not as good as the first two but entertaining.
I'm dying to see A Quiet Place II since the first one was so amazing, but I'll wait for streaming for that one.
The remake of The Invisible Man last year, which was the last thing I saw in theaters, was damn good.

There are plenty of horror movies but it appears there are few good ones.
St Maud is on my list but I haven't seen it yet, so your comment is interesting.
Never really got the Conjuring & dipped out after the first.
A Quiet Place was fantastic & I hope that II doesn't spoil it. I watched a film called Birdcage last week, I knew nothing about it I just stumbled over it on Netflix & was intrigued by the trailer & cast (John Malkovich & Sandra Bullock etc) don't know if it has been a success but I found it although well made a bit dull & derivative. It was essentially A Quiet Place meets The Road.
The Invisible Man was a decent thriller & I liked the switch in the narrative but not sure if I would call it Horror.
I had written Fear Street off as a Stranger Things rip off but maybe that's not the case so also added to the list!

Can you watch them out of sequence? Yes, you can watch 1978 first which has The Reaper. I watched in sequence 1994 part one then 1978 part 2, not my cup of tea.

Can anyone suggest which is the best one? I'm inclined to start with 1978 because of The Reaper but don't want to spoil the experience.

Thought the new conjuring was ok.Liked A Quiet Place 2.Looks like there will be a third. On a similar note Bird Box with Sandra Bullock was a pretty good film in it's own right. My fave films in the genre of the last few years also include Get Out and Cabin In The Woods. There's been a few others but I'm forgetting the titles. The one where the black couple escape to America by boat but are haunted by the spirits of those they could not save was really spooky. I loved Nobody with Bob Odenkirk.Thought the latest Neeson action film The Ice Road was pretty good.Honest Thief was good too.Jennifer Garner did a real good turn in a revenge film in Peppermint.

I'm inclined to start with 1978 because of The Reaper but don't want to spoil the experience. It's a trilogy in which all parts are connected to one another, so I would start with Part One 1994 and progress thru to best understand where its coming from. As mentioned above, Part 3 1666 is not available as of yet. I started from the begining Part 1 1994..made it to Part 2 1978 where The Reaper was partially played, then lost interest. Just not a fan of the teenager horror genre.

Thx Rich I was gonna watch '78 first but I'll start with 1994 first. I'd recommend Soderburghs newest film No Sudden Moves,Let Him Go with Kevin Costner,Tom Hanks News Of The World plus a couple of films with Frank Grillo Wheeleman and the current Boss Level which was fun.Woman In The Window with Amy Adams,Gary OLdman,Julianne Moore,The Statement(Michael Caine playing a Nazi collaborator on the run),A Single Man(really terrific film).

Yes, I would definitely suggest watching them in order. Part two starts up right where apart one ends.
