Indeed. I'd somehow forgotten that Wayne Kramer sang "Ramblin'Rose." Seriously underrated on all fronts. The band kicks. MC5 was signed to Elektra about the same time as Soft White Underbelly. We were mightily impressed, they sounded like the WHO sorta. Didn't care for the pol activist stuff (I think that was John Sinclair's bag,) but it didn't get in the way of music.
The band's energy is more accurately depicted in this video than their recordings, I think. Thanks Soonerbillz.

Late 60s, early 70s, Detroit (and its adjacent environs) had a seriously great scene going on - when you look at the posters and flyers from that time frame, there were just so many shows featuring the likes of the MC5, Stooges, Alice Cooper, Amboy Dukes, Mitch Ryder etc etc, often all on the SAME bill...
SWU were once scheduled to play a New Years gig with the MC5 although that got kiboshed, unfortunately... however, SFG did play with them at Stony Brook and as soon as I get my own personal (non-intrusive) temporal transporter device, that's probably going to be the first gig I dial in to "visit"... either that or the Jefferson Airplane gig... or one of the gigs BOC played on Alice's Killer tour... OK, there's probably going to be a few... :-)

As good as this is, it even further demonstrates the greatness of BÖC’s cover of Kick Out The Jams. IMO
