It looks like the concert in San Antonio is ON. Go to blueoystercult.com/OnTour.html to find the link for tickets. It will take you directly to the "Fiesta Oyster Bake" website. It's more than just a BOC concert. For April 1 tentatively 4 stages at the same time. You can find the lineup and bands on their website. The event will be held on the grounds of the St. Marys University in San Antonio. Anyway, this stuff is on their website. I've never actually attended an Oyster Bake. I spoke to them last week. A few notes - ALL subject to change:1. They are still working out some of the details for the event. Sounded mostly like logistics and booth locations. And updating their website! When I talked to them the BOC time and stage will be as shown.2. Price is reasonable - $20 to $35 for general admission depending whether you are interested in the second day of the event. Includes fees. (There are $$$$ VIP tickets available. You can read what the benefits are. I couldn't find many for us at the asking price, but everybody's priorities are different) 3. Masks: Nothing posted yet, but they said likely the general campus rules will apply: OPTIONAL outside, REQUIRED inside buildings. Not even sure if there will be any actual buildings for the event. 4. They are in the process of updating the maps on their website. As of tonight they were still the maps from 2020, so be sure to check back before the event for updated ones. I gathered the layout will generally be the same as 2020. 5. This is an outdoor event and there will be NO SEATS OR CHAIRS for the concerts. So far you can bring in a folding chair, but no location to store it. A few rock walls here and there. That's the limit to what I gathered. Don't blame me for any errors or omissions!(The no seats or chairs is going to be the big problem for me and my wife. Will try to beg, borrow or steal someplace. Or find some area we won't get thrown out of!)

Here's a link to a folding chair that's currently up for auction on ShopGoodwill.com. It looks like it might be light enough to carry around with you. They have a few others up for auction too. You may also want to check in your local Goodwill's and resale shops. Here's the link - shopgoodwill.com/item/139484843

BOC Radio Station Play Time in San Antonio - concert related??San Antonio radio stations KTKX 106.7 and KONO 101.1 are sponsors of some sort for the stage BOC will play on during the Oyster Bake concert. Wife heard "Burnin' for You" playing at 7:02 PM tonight on 106.7. Haven't heard that on the radio in awhile down here, but wife's the one that listens in the car all the time. I see they played DFTR at 5:13 AM this morning too. Not sure if they will ramp up a few more BOC songs to promote the concert or not. Right before Halloween one of them played DFTR about 7 PM most nights, so BOC may be part of their radio play lists. So BOC has NOT been totally forgotten on good old FM radio here in Texas! Good to hear the guys on. (FYI: I have connection or association with either of these stations)

I just found this on the website for the university where the concert will be held. It was meant for all the students and faculty. I thought their wording was pretty clever!
Don’t fear … the parking at 2022 Fiesta Oyster Bake
March 1, 2022
Rock band Blue Öyster Cult, scheduled to perform at this year’s Fiesta Oyster Bake, wrote the hit song “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper.” And while we’re “Burnin’ for You” to see them, St. Mary’s University doesn’t want parking during the event to be a “Godzilla”-sized task.
Below are changes planned for University parking lots for Homecoming Oyster Bake on Saturday, March 5, and Fiesta Oyster Bake on Friday, April 1, and Saturday, April 2. ...(I left all this parking lot stuff out)

<This was in a separate thread, so I moved it over here where it belongs and deleted the old one>
CONCERT RECAP:
Here’s a quick recap, as I remember it, of the BÖC San Antonio concert on Friday April 1,2022 just for the archives.
Bottom line: the show went on without a hitch and was GREAT.
The Oysterbake itself probably took up around 50 to 80 acres (wild guess) of the 135 acre University campus. So it was big. On the map I counted 5 concert stages each with a different genre of music. San Antonio’s Fiesta in general is THE party time of the year for the city. So there were numerous other competing events all across town on the same night.
Never the less, BÖC garnered a very large audience even with all the competition. I was glad to see that. I don’t have a count, but looking backward from row 2, where the wife and I were standing, was what seemed like a sea of people across the grassy field back to about as far as they could go. Hard to tell exactly that far away at night.
The band was given strict performance hours of 9:15 to 10:30 PM. So the 1 hr 15 minutes was shorter than a lot of their shows. Which meant a somewhat reduced setlist. The band stuck to the schedule almost to the minute. No, don’t ask me which songs were actually played or in what order. I was watching the show and not taking notes. As expected, Golden Age of Leather, Burnin’, Harvest Moon, Godzilla, LDOM , and DFTR were included.
OK, remember the Oysterbake is basically a party on a University campus, one that had been cancelled the previous two years. So the crowd was very excited, animated, vocal, and ready to rock!. Leather was close to the beginning of the show and Eric REALLY pumped up the crowd even more with his powerful introduction - a LOT of beer cans were raised in response as people sang along.
This time I brought ear plugs – so I could actually hear and understand the lyrics. What a difference!
The band played flawlessly as usual. Buck didn’t miss a beat, nor did Eric, Ritchie, Jules, or Danny. At least from what I could tell. So the crowd was pleased to say the least. Up front where I was, people were standing shoulder to shoulder, and a LOT of people were singing along to a number of songs. I was surprised at how many people seemed to know almost all the words to the most popular ones. Singing along doesn’t mean whispering the lyrics, it means belting them out. Not a lot seemed to know Harvest Moon, but I did for the most part. So I feel really sorry for anybody near me that was recording that wanted Buck’s voice and got mine instead.
At the end of the show a number of people were confused. These were the people that knew BÖC’s frequent pattern of “finishing” with DFTR, then combing back for an encore. So the stage went dark and part of the crowd hung around yelling “encore”. I looked at my watch and knew it wasn’t going to happen, confirmed when I saw Buck(?) walk down off of the back of the stage with his backpack on. Oh well.
So if they would have played both Friday and Saturday would have I gone back for round 2? My energy was running out, it had been a long week, but YEP very likely! May have sat on the rock wall way at the back though.
