I was lucky enough to hear this demo at Bolle's in the mid 90s and immediately fell in love with it. Memorized it as best I could so the brain could play it back, so I was thrilled to see it come out on Curse. It was great live, too, one of those clear concert memories (from Iowa).

Folks..
I know less definitely about BOC's history than a lot of you.
I have to look stuff up, and I didn't in this case.

Oh Gerard old buddy - you are slipping! I guess I am. I genuinely don't understand what Wildblue wrote. must be a blind spot in my english. You would have understood if he had said it in Scottish Gerard🤪😝

I'm glad in a way that it didn't get put on RBN, and instead ended up on Curse. For one, Shooting Shark is kind of the same vibe, although both are really good songs. Stone Of Love is my favorite song on Curse, for me it is the highlight of that album, and that guitar solo on the way out is IMO the one of BOC's best post 1980's moments, the tone of the guitar, and the playing are both spot on for me, and reminds me of the amazing guitar tones on the Spectres album. The first note of that solo just grabs me. Great guitar tones were lacking during the 90's and beyond, with so many guitarists using the Line 6 POD stuff, and other digital gear that just didn't sound good.

in Back to the Future part 4 the song makes it's way from 2001 to the top of the charts in 1983,

Another one resurrected thanks to George Geranios.
I just listened to this demo version and then the released Curse of the Hidden Mirror version. I need to start digging deeper again - this is a really good tune that I hadn't found yet.
While both versions are good, I think I prefer the resurrected demo version. Not that one is necessarily any better than the other, just depends on your taste preferences.
Quoting George from his YouTube description: "A kinder, gentler Stone than the album version: limestone versus granite perhaps."
