To me, I kind of see the Cheeseberger as a part of the personality of the band.. Just my 2 cents. x2. It is a very special guitar and has that special connection with Buck and BOC for me ala Willie/Trigger -EVH/ FrankenStrat- BB/ Lucille. I know it has personally brought me more joy than any other guitar on the planet the last few decades thanks to our host. It simply makes me smile. In the words of Bob Marley “One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.” It does exactly that for me.

The "Cheeseberger" had not been overhauled by a Steinberger tech since it was made in the early 90's. The frets on my second neck were worn, the trans-trem needed service (the bearings and the bridge rollers eventually bind) and the electronics had been patched together over the years. It was a rat's nest under the access plate on the back of the guitar. It was completely overhauled and restored to new condition. I did not do any cosmetic restoration, although I could have. It plays better than new now. Thanks for sharing man!! I actually think the few bumps and minor cosmetic stuff give it character, and are part of its epic touring history. I have been listening and watching you play that guitar since the mid 1990’s as I best recall. I can’t wait to see it again in CLE on Sept 10. To me, I kind of see the Cheeseberger as a part of the personality of the band.. Just my 2 cents. Probably a wise move to take a pass on the cosmetics. I've seen people trying to "fix" some little cosmetic defect only to end up with a giant eyesore instead. Plus the little battle scars are like a signature - you know you are seeing the real deal, like the little "mouse-munch on the cheese" down at the bottom right (from the audience's perspective).

The tech who worked on my guitar could have made it look new. But there'd be no point in doing that. Buck D. has played it for decades, and it shows.
