The day is OK and the sun can be fun. But I live to see those rays slip away.

Hello everyone, new here.
I would just like to say that I'm a massive fan of Blue Öyster Cult and Don't Fear The Reaper is my favorite song of all time. Naturally as a guitar player I simply had to learn it and full cover of DFTR is on my bucket list. I would love to get your opinions on it and especially from Buck himself who has been my massive inspiration in guitar world.

Thanks to everyone for positive comments and especially to Buck for kind words, it means a lot! I guess I could say I can die happy now as I Don't Fear The Reaper but I got the sudden urge to practice even more instead. Since I cannot actually replace Buck we could compromise by me recording full cover of Don't Fear The Reaper / Astronomy (still have to learn it but It's been on my bucket list for a very long time) and maybe top it off with BÖC medley?!

Very nice! The full cover - go for it!
I'm not a musician - two guitars over here (wife's) and I can't play ANYTHING. I have no talent for it, but you do, so again, go for it!
Oh, and good job on the video quality too.
(FYI: I like your comment about using headphones, especially on your ABBA bass video that explains why. I put something "similar" on something I posted in another thread here a few days back. I think there are a lot of people, probably not on this forum, that don't know what they're missing if they only use cell phone or laptop computer speakers. I don't use headphones, but at least stuff that has a full enough freq range.)

I actually ruined the video quality a bit for this DFTR solo cover, wanted to make it look a bit like restored footage for the cool effect.
Yeah for ABBA video I actually had to ruin the bass tone a bit with saturation just so the people who'd still prefer to just listen through phone speakers (which is a pity) could still hear some of the bass. It's extremely important to listen to the music with headphones or good stereo system if you're serious about good listening experience. For that reason I always put that "use headphones!" message in my videos.

Yep, you get it on the limitations of tiny speakers. Just not enough size or range of motion to quickly move enough air. There's a reason why my subwoofer has a 15" dia. driver (which is a little too much for my room). Rock on!

Great job on Reaper! The one solo that I've never seen (heard) anyone replicate (including Buck) is his solo on B4U. If you can nail that one, my quest will end.
