Very nice!
I really miss having my old Nikon SLR that broke awhile back. Every time I look at my cell phone camera pics I get mad. Just no way to get real optical zoom and a large aperture. "Digital Zoom" just doesn't cut it for me.
Checked out some of your other pics. Very nice! Night shots were always hard for me.
How things have changed. I remember setting up a full color darkroom (for prints only) in one of our spare bathrooms years ago for my wife's photography classes. What a mess that made of the bathroom. Still have the equipment, guess I could set it up again. NOT! NOT!

Thank you Joe! That's neat that you had a darkroom set up. I used to just take my film to Fotomat.

Thank you Joe! That's neat that you had a darkroom set up. I used to just take my film to Fotomat. :) For black and white we developed both the film itself and made prints, usually 8x10. Messy but pretty easy. For color we just made prints, also usually 8x10, which is what she needed for her classes. We managed to get some really fine looking prints, very vibrant colors, but a LOT of work per print and figuring in the cost of the paper and chemicals, not cheap. We did NOT develop the color film itself. That was a whole different animal to tame, saw what it took and didn't even try. There was a place in town that catered to pros and students. They would develop just the film without prints at a reasonable price, so that's what we did. Sometime we'd let them print some of our small "snapshots" because they did a really nice job. But for a price... We took a lot of just snapshot pics (vacations, animals around the house, etc.). We took those to a little 1 hour photo place down the street. The price was right and the quality was really pretty good. That was our Fotomat equivalent. :} Then came digital cameras and everything changed. I need to try to find a place to fix my old Nikon D80. When it first broke there were a number of places that would repair them. But NO, I procrastinated and now most places won't fool with them, lack of parts probably. I think I even know what's wrong with it. There is a little motor driven rod with a PLASTIC arm on the end. Known failure - the plastic breaks. The whole assembly used to be about $30, and I even had instructions on how to replace it. But the complexity of getting to it was way beyond me - hands just not that steady anymore. I just haven't gone to the trouble to see if I could trade it in for a used slightly newer model. The parts in it are still of some value to repair places. There's a place in town that deals with such things, but been to lazy to fool with it. One of these days.........

Maybe if you find an old Nikon D80 at a garage sale or thrift store, you could harvest the parts from it to fix your D80. I've fixed some of my old cameras that way.

Or just splurge on a Red Dot and be done with it.

Or just splurge on a Red Dot and be done with it. Yeah right. The way my 401(k) equivalent is going right now about time to go for a shoe box pinhole camera if I want to make a change. Aaarrgh.

Only 1 bid with 4 days left. Might seriously consider! I bookmarked it. Some of the others listed didn't look as promising. It shows a code "E". That's just no memory card. No problem there. For just the bag, battery, charger (if working) would be worth that, but no telling what the current bid is. Could have hot pixels - or nothing wrong at all. I'll likely place some bid and see what happens. Only $11 to get it here. Thanks!

Add to that about $15 shipping/handling and you get to $60. A little more than I wanted to risk on something that may or may not work. I could put that towards something that is known to be OK. Oh well, no free lunch. Thanks for the info though.

Here's a link to one that's currently listed at $7.99 and they say that it works. shopgoodwill.com/item/146101237Well Mary, I bought a new camera for Christmas. No, not what you think. We always wondered what all wandered around our back yard at night. So I bought a fairly inexpensive "Trail Camera" and mounted it to the back wall of our house. Attached is part of a screen cap of what we found on Dec 29. Four coyotes. I knew they were around, I hear them howling up on the hill behind the dry creek at the back of our property. We've got over 3 acres - why do they have to be 4 ft from the house? Interesting to see what else shows up. I know we have deer, armadillos, raccoons (LOTS!), foxes, ringtail cats (I love these little guys, but they are rare), a bobcat (only twice that we saw), possums (it's been awhile), skunks, wild hogs (thank goodness they're gone for now), anyway that's what comes to mind. The porcupines stay across the road from me thank goodness - there's a creek over there. I hope to get some of these on camera. Only a deer, coyotes, an armadillo, and raccoons (every night) so far.
