He says it was 1972 and BOC played it on their way through to Chicago... BOC played Chicago twice in that year, that I know of - both at the Arie Crown: 15 May 1972: w/ Chase and Spirit 08 Aug 1972: w/ Argent and Jeff Beck so presumably it would have been prior to one of those... I know BOC played Zambo's Music Hall in McKeesport the next year also, and Chris Martin (CultJacket) once told me "Albert and Buck both said to me they played The Palisades in Mckeesport PA before in 1971 as SFG", but this 1972 Rug warehouse gig would seem to fall in between those two...

According to Rich Engler, who promoted the Carpet store gig, we were already signed to A.T.I. booking agency at the time of that gig. I know we were in the Pittsburgh area a few times in the early days. Other than that, my memory is fuzzy.

Chris Martin(Cult Jacket) was talking about this this weekend as we were in Pittsburgh at the show and he lives around there for the last give it 40 plus years. He’s on top of these things I’m sure he knows something more on this subject. Not sure if he’s on The Forum. I’m going to mention It to him again. Always good to shed more light. |

More a case of not knowing how far it really was Yea, that's a helluva long ride.. 5 hours easily from eastern PA. Tho, the turnpike is known for high speed runs. It is one of the main highways used for the unofficial Cannonball runs. |

I decided it was cheaper to do it than cancel my flight from pittsburgh to nyc etc. But after getting hit with an extra charge on my hire car (that I thought was waived) and the tolls, it would have been cheaper |
