We have a small hole in our attic where bees can get through. Would bondic do the job for that you think? No, Bondic is dental cement. It's good for fixing jewelry and repairing frayed smartphone charge cords, eyeglasses, things you'd use superglue on. The advantage is it's clear and doesn't set up until you put the UV light on it. Then it bonds instantly. Won't regular caulk fix that?

If the hole is wide enough that a bee can fit through, then it may be too large to fill with caulk. It may require a patch of some sort to close up the hole.

For a thread that was started by a bot it sure seems to have taken a life of its own lately. Perhaps the administrators should create a new subsection for home improvement?

Ha. This thread is ok for that. Hah, ya maybe we got a little sealing info on this one. I’m going to be using the Flex Seal at work next week. Someone mentioned water sealing and that name and I said hmm I’ll do that job. Yes, it’s sealing around water!! I’ll let ya know the outcome Buck. It was funny when they spoke of it and we were just talking about it here.

Holmes on homes.. he'll fix it! Or, submit it as a project for Ask This Old House. That's a neat show. They come to the home and have the homeowner participate in the repair project. I've learned a lot from watching that show.

We have a small hole in our attic where bees can get through. Would bondic do the job for that you think? You don't need any specialised products for that - just block the hole!! Obviously, if the hole is due to a missing/damaged roof tile, you'd need to get that sorted - if it's due to missing mortar/cement near a ridge tile, for example, then that can worsen over time so you might need to get your ridgeline resealed, but in the short term, if the gap is low down, at the level of your attic floor, just jam an old T-Shirt or something similar into the hole, and if it's higher up, just tack some sort of barrier across the wooden beams in the area in question, eg - a piece of plastic or whatever... the bees will get the message and bugger off to find somewhere easier to get into... bees are easy to dissuade, but wasps seem harder... I don't get wasps - if I was redesigning the universe, I'd leave wasps out of it...

Have you tried Alien Tape?
I've seen so many late night commercials I'm about to give in to the pressure.

In that case, I'd want to put some sort of card or pad over the middle part (the part that was outward facing) so that bit wasn't sticky - I'd hate to think of any bees getting stuck to the tape or getting their wings damaged etc - we need to look after our bees, even if we don't want them setting up house in our lofts...

If it is just a small hole that bees are going through stuff it with steel wool.
