Harvest Moon 2022 tonight Sep 10 - beware!

Well, I'm glad you got to see it! Now you can say you performed Harvest Moon under the watchful eye of this year's Harvest Moon.

Socked in with clouds here on the 10th until late at night, so it just looked like a full moon high in the sky. The best time to see it is when it just comes up over the horizon, so the wife and I scouted out the best place to view it around here. It was just something to do after dinner anyway on our way home. Turned out the best place was right up at the top of my street. Overlooks almost all of the city and the horizon was visible in more or less the right direction.

Clear sky on the next evening, but it rose later that day and I didn't make it in time. Darn, would have been great I bet. All I had was a cell phone camera, but a decent SLR could have captured a nice picture. Later it became visible at my house, which is buried in trees, and it was still a good size and was nice and orange. It rose fast in the sky with the size and color degrading rapidly.
