It was just mind-blowing.
First off though, some back-story. I've been been familiar with Pink Floyd ever since I was a kid, but didn't really like the band until I saw Roger Waters's The Wall in 2012. What made me familiarized with Pink Floyd was from my dad, whose a HUGE fan. He even got to meet Roger Waters in 1999 with my mom, which ended up being a disappointment, because Roger took his compliment as criticism. If I can recall learning about this in-depth, it was when me and him were repainting my bedroom back in 2010, I think, and that just drew me farther away from Pink Floyd for a while until I saw Roger Waters myself in 2012. It wasn't until The Wall concert that I became a fan, even admitting that I would like to meet Roger, despite knowledge previously stated here and that it would be very difficult to take the time to find him on the streets.
Back to the D.C. show, it was a benefit concert called Music Heals held in Washington D.C. to raise money for MusiCorps. Aside from Roger Waters leading the show, there was also Billy Corgan, Tom Morello, a mini-orchestra, and some vets playing onstage, and everybody was great! What was funny was that Roger stopped at the beginning of his single Crystal Clear for his new album to start over because he felt it was going off and that the tempo was too slow. XD Sheryl Crow was supposed to be there, but she couldn't make it, so there was instead, actually a nice, decent video taken of the vets, Roger, and Sheryl playing in the studio with the band onstage playing along too.
Me and my parents had VIP tickets, and therefore, got access to an after-show reception on the reception balcony and room, a nice scenery. I even got the chance to meet Billy Corgan, who signed my pass. Since my mom gave me hers, I used it to have a few vets sign it as well. Then one of them said that Roger Waters might enter the room, and I was just thinking in my head, Well, that would be cool, but it can't be guaranteed. To my surprise, though, Roger entered the room, while I was at the front of the table behind some people in the line that was already set to go with people moving to the right. I could have been extremely nervous as to how Roger would approach me, but I was instead very delighted, positive mood, not even worrying about what would happen. He signed the pass with Billy Corgan's autograph. While he was doing that, I asked him "How's your golf game?" and he shook his head. XD That meeting experience ended up being an awesome one for me, because Roger has really mellowed out over the years, and the fact that I got to meet this take of him just made it even better. Happy to also say that it went very well for my parents too, as they didn't walk away disappointed.
Speaking of them, while I was up front meeting Roger Waters, they were actually ready to get to the end of the line to meet him themselves, because before Roger entered the room, the table was crowded, yet I managed to move upfront. I got back in line with them, hoping that I could get my picture taken with Roger, and I did, while he was signing my dad's pass!
