Anyone know which LI Town Don grew up in? I always hear "Long Island" but never get more detail. Nassau or Suffolk County? Just curious.

SO refreshing to listen to an interview where the interviewer really knows his subject and has intelligent questions to ask.
So, David Lucas’ studio was pretty much a stone’s throw from Sony Hall, it seems. Kind of bringing it back full circle.

SO refreshing to listen to an interview where the interviewer really knows his subject and has intelligent questions to ask. Maybe on the musical side but not so much on anything else... after just 2 minutes in, he'd already described Buck as "the lead singer, song writer and guitar player" of BOC - not a great start - and then asked him why did he call himself "Buck Dharma" and where did he get the name "Blue Oyster Cult" from...? He'd just asked Buck where he's from, and I was fully expecting a cowbell-shaped question to be looming over the immediate conversational horizon... I wasn't disappointed... That guy could have spent just 10 minutes basic research beforehand, and then he could have missed out the apparent contractual requirement in a BOC interview to ask all these excruciatingly rehashed 'same old same old' questions... they bore the interviewee - who has to bite his lip and decide how politely can he trot out the same bloody answer for the 10,000 time - and they bore the listener, who can almost recite that same answer from memory of the last interview they listened to...

Well, I meant on the musical/technical side and to be fair, BD seemed very engaged and happy to be talking to this man. We know how interviewees can get when asked the same basic questions over and over. Anyone remember any of the old Rockline interviews? God bless Bob Coburn and may he RIP, but most of his listeners just trotted out the same questions over the years, and you could tell when Buck was bored on those shows!
At least here, I learned some things and Buck had a smile on his face a good part of the time.

I take Ralph's point and frustration, maybe you should interview me Ralph, for the edification of the well educated BOC fan.
I enjoyed talking to Warren, and yeah, the same questions, understanding that his audience probably doesn't know the first thing about BOC other than hearing the hits on the radio. His Youtube crowd has got to be half the age or less of the geezers reading this here. Yeah, Reaper/Burnin'/Godzilla. I know! The burden of being Buck Dharma..
I was glad to see the crisp editing of the conversation, it moved along nicely. In real time, as recorded, Ralph would have fallen asleep trying to listen. : )
A good interview, as introduction to Buck, and the band. The virtues of BOC as a whole were covered, if mainly in generalities.

I think all unasked interview questions are moot, at this point, except one. I can name that tune in two notes….New song?
