1930s Germany also had a system of loudspeakers and a program of promoting private ownership of radios. Going as far as to insure radios were inexpensive. (The better to spread our message my dearies) Would a modern government do something similar? After all, shouldn’t everyone have access? It’s only fair. The “good” in these new technologies is alway in the forefront of the promotion (says a guy on the internet using a smart phone) For instance you can now have Board meetings and ai will take the minutes. When the meeting is over, you can distribute bullet point lists of what was discussed and then email a copy of the minutes to everyone in attendance. No need for someone to physically transcribe from handwritten notes to finished minutes. So then everyone cheers and says yeah for the great technology and the powers that be promote the technology so everyone has fair and equitable access to it. ( the easier to spread our message my dearies). But THAT could only happen in some far off despotic country, right? Hmmmmmm……. www.internetforall.gov/This post is not intended as anything more than a reflection of my hope that people are forever vigilant about how easily what was once viewed as good can become nefarious. Remember Lucifer (the light baby) was once an Angel in heaven with VIP access. This post was typed by ME not AI. 😁

Well not lyrics but I remember reading this article (https://bravewords.com/reviews/blue-oyster-cult-the-symbol-remains) a few years ago and thinking "damn did a human even write this?". I finally resolved it was some production copywriter who needed to generate some content just borrowing liberally every BOC cliche from other articles he could google on the subject. Anyway I found the article again and sure enough my impression remains the same. I think this is what you might get from Chatgpt if asked to write that article. Half truths, half crap, half interesting, half unintelligible blather....oh wait that's most articles nowadays...😁 Your last line. I wrote a generic news cast about twenty years ago. I will have to find it and post it. Fill in the blanks and you have todays news. I think the area of propaganda is a potential use for ChatGPT. Collect the data on what everyone posts and searches and “thinks about” online. Then voila! Mass manipulation of the masses. Oh wait… did you know in the early days of the Third Reich Germany had Television Cafes? Think Internet Cafe. Watch this wonderful new technology called “television”. The only thing is you can only watch what “we” allow. Hmmmmmmmmmm 🤔 But today you may need to start with a generic FakeNews cast.

Well, I am not convinced. One thing I've often wondered - was it EB or Ian Hunter who penned those particular erm... "esoteric" lyrics...? It could have been a joint effort I suppose, but they just don't feel like Ian Hunter words to me... I met Ian Hunter years ago & asked him about both Goin Through The Motions & Let Go. He seemed surprised but genuine pleased that someone remebered them. He said he really liked GTTM & thought it should have been a hit. When asked about Let Go he laughed & said something like it was a lot of fun, as for the lyrics he attributed them to "mostly the nice Jewish boy" & laughed some more.

What's your favorite Eric Bloom lyric? It's always been difficult for me to figure out who wrote what in BOC when there is more than one credit. I absolutely love a line in Divine Wind but I know that's a buck song, I gotta go with: My dream may be your nightmare.

If it is the entire song Lyric, I'm still going with take me away.

What's your favorite Eric Bloom lyric? gotta go with Showtime (one song I really would have liked to hear live, if only) oh, and After Dark (given that Eric cowrote the lyrics with Liz Myers), another "coulda been a live classic" that was never meant to be

What's your favorite Eric Bloom lyric? "I couldn't quite place it...I didn't quite know....but I had some wild oates that I wanted to sow. She was a farm fertile and deep....some things you sow you better not reap." Demon's Kiss Makes me grin every time I hear it...something "adolescent" in those lyrics brings back memories of the days of my youth! 🙂

What's your favorite Eric Bloom lyric? As fans, we're never quite sure of who wrote what when there are multiple credits assigned to any particular song... we can make assumptions, of course - if Aldo had nuffin to do with Take Me Away's lyrics, then I suppose that would be my answer... But look at Let Go... my assumption is that Buck didn't contribute any lyrics to that - so that leaves EB and IH - from Lux's post above, it looks like it was mainly "the nice Jewish boy", but that doesn't entirely exclude IH, so unless Eric can say he had NO lyrical involvement, we don't really know for sure... Shadow Warrior? You HAVE to think Eric Van Lustbader's contribution was obviously lyrical, but did Eric also come into this equation, or is his credit as a result of some sort of musical intervention...? Not sure... Veteran? Was ANY part of Eric's credit to do with adding/arranging Moorcock's original submission...? Again, dunno... BTW: I didn't mention Feel the Thunder because I personally dislike those lyrics with extreme prejudice - to me, they're just clichéd nonsense... not my cup of Earl Grey at all... :-(

Veteran? Was ANY part of Eric's credit to do with adding/arranging Moorcock's original submission...? Again, dunno... Funny, I always thought Veteran's music was Eric's and lyrics were 100% Moorcock. and well, Feel the Thunder should have been Moorcock's Sleep of a 1000 Tears and the title alone is so good it wakes me weep... (the hawkwind track that used the lyrics is quite good !)

My assumption is that the music was 100% EB and the lyrics were 100% MM, but if that is the case - I was wondering if EB, whilst arranging and shaping the submitted lyrics to fit his music, added any lyrics himself in that process and thereby incurred a lyrical credit...? Murray Krugman, for example, seemed to pick up just such a credit for SOL, and that sad fact later came to put a wrench in BOC's AOF TV special, if you recall...
