Saw Jon and the Geeks last night in Tyson's Corner VA. I grew up down the Beltway from Tyson's. Back then, it was a rather non-descript local mall whose only virtue was a movie theater. All the cool kids went to Springfield Mall in the opposite direction. Springfield Mall is now gone. Tyson's was so nothing that I bought my copy of Tyranny & Mutation in 1983 at Sears at Landmark Shopping Center in Alexandria. (I was 15 and I still remember walking across the parking lot holding it and some guy coming the other way said, "That's a cool album". How right he was!) Anyways, after reading Buck's post, the other night I had a dream that I was visiting my mother (who still lives in the house I grew up in) and Buck was hanging out with us. :-> Now, my mom's not a BOC fan per se (she's 87) but she does like the intro to Joan Crawford and she was driving me to my (supposed-to-be) first BOC show in D.C. in March, 1985 when it got snowed out. Ironically, we turned around right near where Steverivet lives (or used to live) though I didn't know him at the time. |

I’d have to listen to this concert blindfolded. The Visuals in all the videos are killing me :-)

I'm on a desktop PC, no not sure how cell phone interfaces work. But I just did a couple of YouTube searches and then used the YT filters on the left-top'ish of the screen to sort by "Upload Date" for the following simple terms: Jon Anderson and then another Band Geeks You'll get some garbage, but the concerts are pretty easy to pick out. The two URL's I got from the searches ended up being: www.youtube.com/results?search_query=jon+anderson&sp=CAI%253Dwww.youtube.com/results?search_query=band+geeks&sp=CAI%253DYMMV on another system, may just do nothing. |

I have really been enjoying what is available so far. Close To The Edge was one of my first purchases, after buying a nice stereo at 16. Tapehead/Too (YouTube) has the best so far.
