We all know BÖC is for some unknown reason never going to be in the HOF. But on a composer note why isn't Buck a 1st round candidate entry? I mean his amazing playing capability not withstanding isn't just DFTR and it's massive impact on the musical universe specifically and in mainstream society in general enough to warrant Buck's entry? I would assume so.

Loved Jeff Ament from Pearl Jam wearing that shirt of all the bands (including BÖC) who had yet to be included.

Take a look at these two sites: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_and_Roll_Hall_of_Fame#Criticism_and_controversyand if this site is even half-way accurate, look at the competition. There are a lot of people and bands that have been passed over. And the list will continue to grow. Not all have the same talent of course, but the list of artists and bands eligible is huge. BÖC appears on both the master list and the "snub" list. futurerocklegends.com/After looking at that, I refer you back to the first link.

Damn you and your confetti of truth... can't you just agree to a fans whining? I hate it when my thoughts are shot full of holes. But your thoughts are still valid: > We all know BÖC is for some unknown reason never going to be in the HOF. The reason(s) will probably remain unknown to us. Too many undocumented moving parts. Unfortunately I agree they'll probably not make it. They belong there as much as some that are. > But on a composer note why isn't Buck a 1st round candidate entry? I mean his amazing playing capability not withstanding isn't just DFTR and it's massive impact on the musical universe specifically and in mainstream society in general enough to warrant Buck's entry? I would assume so. I agree he should be a candidate. Not just for his playing, but his composition, lyrics, and he is truly dedicated to his/their music and isn't just in it for the money or to blatantly "show off" just for the sake of showing off. And DFTR has definitely left it's mark. Just look at all the movies it's been used in. I read that one of the items that get you points is SNL. No, they didn't actually play on the show that I know of, but the cowbell skit should check that box on it's own merit.
Some people get blessed in some ways (his playing ability really checks that box) and screwed in others (HOF not likely, but who knows). From what I know about Buck I would say he would rather be the skilled musician that he is than a mediocre musician in the HOF. That's what I would choose for myself anyway.

All it takes to turn a whole "committee" against you, and sometimes even people associated with you, is to REALLY PO one of the committee principals. The only reference I found mentioning both Wenner and Meltzer is below. I'm sure there are more stories, but ran out of time to dig. You know infinitely more about R&R history than I do. Sad but true.
There is far too many awesome things that have happened for this band and it’s fans for decades to dwell on it IMO….but if it happened somehow I’d climb mountains to be there.

If/when they get in,bands usually perform a couple tunes and often joined by others in attendance. I'm not a huge Metallica fan but i think Hetfield/Hammit are great and would fit perfectly. Who would you pick?
