Good afternoon, everyone. It's been a while since the St.Charles concert, but the Arcada uploaded meet and greet photos today!
First off, I wanna apologize again for not being able to complete 5 drawings sets for the whole band. I would've liked to have finished on time, but my artblock wasn't helping me draw out what I wanted until towards the day before and the day of the concert, and was running low on time. Then at 6 PM, I decided to just give them the first set, since I didn't want to give them huge quantities that contain mostly sloppy fanart. Here's the set I gave them. You guys may recognize these from my BOC fan-made concept album thread, which were done originally as part of a graphic re-identification project. During the time I was making these though, I also intended to give these to the band as well. I also drew one for Sandy on the day of the concert that actually came out pretty good, but I never scanned it. Sorry guys!
When I arrived to the Arcada, I met up with Cheryl and Robert! They were sitting in the Buck Zone. My dad decided to lend Cheryl his VIP meet and greet pass so that the two could go meet the band. All three of us had met the band after the opening band played (which consisted of Chicago Bears players). Of course, I was nervous, but in a good way, because I was looking forward to meeting BOC again. I handed Richie the big envelope containing all six illustrations, and I was so elated to have hugged Buck again, because I did miss him. I know I am on the Talk Exchange a lot, it felt so good to meet him again for the first time since last year in August.
I know I didn't get to talk to everybody or talk a whole lot, but that's because not only I didn't want to keep everybody else who were in line waiting, but compared to how I am online, I'm actually very shy and quiet in person.
I'll post another illustration on this thread eventually, which is coming from my sketchbook and will be based on me and Buck at the meet and greet.
The concert overall kicked ass! Got to hear Black Blade live for the first time, and I loved Eric's narrative before they played the song. I also cracked up when he humorously insulted the lighting crew for screwing up on their job during the narrative part. XD After Cities on Flame, Jules walked up to my side of the stage edge and handed me a drumstick. Now I have a complete pair from him!
It was overall a great night! Next time I can see Blue Oyster Cult again though, I'm gonna work hard to make those sets I couldn't finish (and in good quality), and perhaps some bonuses too like polymer clay amulets and plushy dolls.
To wrap up this post, here's a photo of me, Cheryl, and Robert after the concert:
