Been listening to a lot of Peter Gabriel-era Genesis lately.

Ooooh that crisp drum sound. Never gets old. While I"m a Zep fan I've always found Presence and Physical Graffiti unlistenable.

Traveling through the entire discography before the big release. I remember tha Curse came out RIGHT before a family vacation, and I only had room to pack a few CDs in my bag, so I brought the best of Creedence Clearwater Revival, the Detroit Rock City soundtrack, and Curse of the Hidden Mirror. Every day I walked to the arcades in Stone Harbor NJ I had my CD player with me, and I shit you not, I listened to Curse once a day, EVERY day, all week. I was just shy of my 16th birthday and my mind was still able to accept loads of new information and store lyrics like it never would again. I can remember the lyrics on that album better than the lyrics I wrote for my own damn band. That was my first "new" BOC record, Heaven Forbid having come out the year before I started getting into them. The next spring after Curse came out I saw BOC live for the first time, and it was my first ever concert period. March 2, 2002. That is indelibly imprinted in my brain. I am so friggin' happy we're getting another one. And that I have tickets to see them next year, if it doesn't get postponed due to COVID. Anyway, that vacation is why I always associate the songs on that album with summertime. They did Eye at the Bottom Line show.

I think Achilles Last Stand and Ten Years Gone from those two albums respectively are their best work. In My Time of Dying is pretty rad, too.

Along with BOC my other two fave bands were Supertramp and Fairport Convention. This song Waiting So Long my second fave Rick Davies song was from the '83 Germany show which was Roger Hodgson's last show with them.Roger finishes up my fave tune by him Hide In Your Shell ,then Rick does Waiting So Long then Roger announces he's leaving the band.

LOL Kashmir bores the shit outta me.I call it Drone-Mir. I was a HUGE fan of Led Zep back in the day, but my appreciation has faded, more than for most bands of that era. I do still enjoy their first four albums, in small doses.

One of those songs, like many of BOCs, where I'm actually MAD it isn't a hit. Such a good album, such a great song.

Still my faves. There are times when Plants voice really annoys me.In fact I liked his voice better when he did the 50's/60's tunes in the 80's.He had the good taste to cover my fave Ben E King record Young Boy Blues(tho not anywhere near as good):
