The world is glued to their phones and the news today ("I'm a slave to the machine" amirite), and I am too, but for the music. I put together a Playlist of my favorite Aerosmith deep cuts and I'm listening to that as I get some household work done.

Right this very second I am listening to the Record Store Day 2020 reissue of Mew and the Glass Handed Kite (2005). Are they shoegazer, psychedelic pop, prog, indie? All of the above.

Sounds a bit like a tune from '67 or so.Got a bit of that garage band crunch to it.Never liked Oasis actually but this is listenable.

I really like a lot of their stuff even after what is considered their heyday . Mysterious Ways is a great one. The Hands that Built America. Hold Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me. And Beautiful Day for SURE.

And Beautiful Day for SURE. For as many songs of theirs that I do like, I would not mind if the corpse of U2 (the band itself, not the musicians) were hoisted on a petard, buried under a dung heap and rotting animals, lit afire, their ashes scattered and forgotten.

I checked out the new singles from Springsteen (Letter to You) and the Foo Fighters (Shame Shame). I can't believe that out of the two, only Letter to you was listenable. If you like Bruce, you'll like that song. FF really went off in a strange direction with Shame, I didn't care for it at all.

Maybe this should go in Unpopular Musocal Opinions, but I think Iron Maiden's greatest work is not The Number of the Beast but rather their 2006 concept album A Matter of Life and Death. I saw them on that tour when they played it in its entirety and that remains one of the greatest shows I have ever seen.

Just heard this on Sirius' Deep Tracks station. Frickin' awesome stuff. This is why I'll never go back to terrestrial radio.
