So, Guns N' Roses released their first new song in about 13 years and......
Look, Appetite for Destruction is incredible, Use Your Illusion I & II have some stunningly amazing songs on them. Even Chinese Democracy, as much as it didn't meet expectations, was still an overall good album...
So....
How did anybody who heard this new song not manage to tell them it sounds like shit? Like, there had to have been people along the way who could have told them this song is awful. I know music is subjective and I know it is an opinion of mine that it is awful, not scientific fact, but I seriously think it's just bad. I'm disappointed. With Slash back in the fold I thought there would be a return to form if they ever made new music, but instead they recycled a song from Chinese Democracy that didn't make the cut.
I mean, you be the judge, but this is... probably one of their worst songs out there, along with that weird My World track that closes Use Your Illusion II

I was nine when this fantastic album was released. I don't think I actually heard it until I was in my 20s, being too interested in all things hard and fast rock with the occasional punk thrown in. 50 years old this year and so much more adventurous and truly "progressive" than most of the prog stuff released nowadays. It was the first record with Steve Hackett and Phil Collins, one of whom I have a huge amount of respect for.

I was in my local Walmart a few days ago, and this song came on the in-store music that was playing. It's been stuck in my head ever since.

Great track. Once got a speeding ticket while listening to it in the car. I was so involved I didn't notice the police car behind me.
