One of my fave Joe B tunes-he's put out a lot of records and IMO hits his share of homeruns-I dig Wild Lands too -a lot-it reminds me of something Springsteen would do.

I love this song if for no other reason than this, what may be my favorite song lyric of 2021:
"Is your mother worried? Would you like us to assign someone to worry your mother?"
I've been listening to a lot of contemporary stations on the radio lately to try to find new (to me) music.
I also heard this one, which makes me think of if The Pixies met The Cranberries
Lastly this is a new song I absolutely love the sound of, especially the guitar doing the melody lines:

On a whim I went to see BOC for 4th of July. Extraterrestrial Live is my favorite album of all time, and my brother had Revolution by Night. I had never listened to much else, because my few forays in to the studio records made me feel ETL was vastly superior. I had seen BOC once in the late 80s and again in the early 90s, but I remember little of either show. Anyway, I have been listening to almost nothing but BOC since. I've heard every album, watched a dozen old shows on you tube and every interview I can find. That's why I signed up here. Friends and family are tired of hearing about Blue Oyster Cult.

Saw a video of Johnny Maestro & the Brooklyn Bridge's first hit Worst That Could Happen and thought it would be nice to post the original off of the first 5th Dimension album.Written by the great Jimmy Webb.

I like Maestro's take because of the horns that finish off the song.

I like Maestro's take because of the horns that finish off the song. I like that one better, too. Maestro was one of the best voices of that era, and he nailed it. The 5th Dimension's success with Nyro songs is interesting, it seems odd today that songs were out by multiple artists at the same time.

The 5th Dimension just did it as an album, track.I don't know how it came to Maestro but he did a great job on it.Always found it cool that Maestro had success leading two group The Crests and then The Brooklyn Bridge which consisted of members of The Del Satins who had one hit on their own and many good records and backed up Dion on his 60's hits.Plus The Rhythm Method a Long Island instrumental group that was basically the horn section of the B.B.

That's a good look on Mick, I'd buy insurance from him. In Grace Slick's autobiography "Somebody to Love", there's a chapter where she talks about the time she and Paul Kantner went to Mick Jagger's home in England to discuss the arrangements for the Altamont concert. Mick came to the door in a business suit and he was all business during their meeting.

The 5D version is totally overwrought. Another tune that nails the sentiment of "Worst" is Lil Dicky's "Molly." I surfed into it on YT, and it broke my heart to listen and watch.
