The PA system played this prior to the Mike Campbell show I attended Friday night. I checked on SoundHound and discovered it was a song from Chuck Berry’s last album, and that he recorded it as he was nearing 90! Been playing it on repeat - love it. I can imagine BOC having fun with it, and Buck blazing through a few solos.

Just saw Roxy Music in Boston on Saturday, so they have been on a heavy playlist.

I just discovered a contemporary rock band called Rival Sons. They've been around since 2009 but I didn't know it. Great. Like some '70's band you somehow missed. I haven't heard a bad cut yet. Video unavailable:( Looks like Google or You Tube time time

Been listening to the 3-CD Box Set Series set I didn’t need but bought at the show Friday night, reliving the memories of a magical run of shows.
Hey, there’s apparently an unreleased live version of Dr. Music so I had to get it!
Had been playing Impera by Ghost up to then quite a bit.

I’m listening to the new album by The Beths, who are my favorite “new” band. They’re great writers, and their drummer is a great “feel” drummer much like Albert.
I love their music videos too

Saw Brian Howe (replaced Paul Rodgers in Bad Company for a few albums) open for BOC at Binghampton NY Spediefest about 12 or so years ago. Thought he sounded great, and Holy Water has always been a guilty pleasure Bad Co album for me. It's their "Flat Out" in my opinion. Sadly he passed a few years ago.

So I went back to my past for something a little different tonight. This song brings back good memories for me and my wife. This was, and still is, officially "our song". Probably the first album we bought together - vinyl with the record and the classic cover both still in perfect condition. I think we wanted it played at our wedding, but I don't think the "formal" band picked for us ever ever did it.
This song was released in the UK in July 1976. DFTR was also released in July 1976. Things sometimes converge out of nowhere.
The piano intro is a little long so don't give up, but it's cool. The song starts shortly after. This is an extended live performance from 1979 for Musikladen in Germany.
"The Year of the Cat" by Al Stewart
When I first saw this video I was in for a couple of surprises. First, Al Stewart is not like I pictured him from some of the promo album covers I had seen. Second, I guess I never researched anything about him but for some reason I always thought he was the pianist. Wrong!

There's a Royal Albert Hall live performance from a few years ago that is great. My first Al Stewart album was Past,Present and Future then came Modern Times and then I bought all the early albums from Korvettes in Brooklyn who obviously had a hip buyer cuz their imports were fantastic. SAW him twice in the 70's once with Renaissance and saw him again at the Bottom Line in the 90's. Roads To Moscow is still a stunning song.Modern Times a beautiful piece.

I would have liked to see him live. You were lucky. A number of great tunes in that man. I need to find the 18 minute track "Love Chronicles" on the album of the same name. Has Jimmy Page on guitar. Gotta make sure it's the uncensored version. :) We have several of his albums, but I have no clue which. We have GOT to sort out our CD and vinyl collection! I think the one we kept handy was just the greatest hits CD (whatever it was called). I liked Song on the Radio (and others). The title came from his record label telling him to write a song that "could be played on the radio". I think he said the label didn't get the reason for the title. Apparently he threw some other things into the lyrics, but I can't remember the story.

Saw Kikagaku Moyo last night in Brooklyn. Really good show. Very high energy for a psychedelic/jam band.

The Pretty Reckless: Back to the river (ft. Warren Haynes).
I was recently introduced to this band and was impressed right off the bat. I look forward to delving into more of their catalog.
