I still didn't know what ECPI is/was. Is that the abbreviation for East Coast Polytechnic Institute? If so, I never heard one of their commercials here. Maybe ECPI is a new addition to my area? They do have a couple of places nearby.
We had a similar local school here that advertised all the time. It started as a trade-type school, then a college, now a university. No ties with ECPI and not as big. The owners son worked where I did for awhile, knew him a little.

The commercials were pervasive in the mid-Atlantic region back in the day. Buck's lyrics literally come from the commercial like...."you gotta job". ..."operators are standing by" etc. I like the sarcastic parts though like "you got a rich mama...we want to hear from you"...just cracks me up. Everybody knew that place was more or less a diploma mill. Try to track down the commercials and you'll get it for sure....if I run across it I'll post a link.

I worked at a “computer school” in the late 90’s, early 00’s (until I had to meet with “The 2 Bobs”. We all joked that the students were paying $10,000 to learn CTRL, ALT, DEL by which I mean they were on the road to being MCSE’s (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers). Much like the meritocracy that is life , some went on to great career and financial success and others wound up posting to a “rock star’s” message board at 4 AM.

Don't know how far you got into it but there's a wicked sounding lead break that sounds like Ernie Isley ( to me anyway) that just totally resonates to my state of mind whenever I hear that song. I guess I'm particularly amused by that song because of it's pure sarcasm of the old ECPI commercials. It's obvious Buck must have had the same impression of them that I did. Maybe it won't resonate unless you heard those commercials back in the eighties but it makes me grin everytime I hear it! It's just so perfectly devilish in it's delivery and message. And I just really like the sound of that lead break....not over the top but solid and is such an unusual departure from the rest of the song. Listen to the whole thing....make sure to take in the lyrics and if you never saw one, youtube an old ECPI commercial. I guarantee you'll at least grin if not outright laugh. That Buck has quite the sense of humor.... Above you mentioned "That Buck has quite the sense of humor...."
If you haven't checked out the "The Dharmas" you need to do so. Created around 2002 by Buck and his wife. These will give you an idea. :) www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLERQNgzQqefgOjJwq8EEje73jvtSv9ULKIn the episodes "Garbage" and when the wheel breaks in "A Long Day's Afternoon" my wife wanted to know if I was related. At the computer, almost the EXACT things I say to answer her back. See if you recognize some of the music in "A Long Day's Afternoon".

Even my 3 and 4 year old grand kids love it....they ask to watch "Buck and Sandy"....Long Day's Afternoon reminds me of my own life (1/4 mile long driveway) and Garbage mirrors me and my wife....sooo funny!

I found the Tiger's Fang episode. Hilarious! The only way I recognized Buck at first is because Sandy was sitting next to him and she still looked like, well, Sandy. Never met her. I wonder which one of the two would win a practical joke contest against each other? Buck might actually loose that battle for real.

Bryan Beller's " Volunteer State" is just one fine track on his double concept album "Scenes From The Flood". This album is a journey...although mostly instrumental you seem to feel the build of the storm, flood and receding waters. I've known Bryan mostly as Satch's touring bassist, and as the founder and bassist of the supergroup "The Aristocrats"; but this record showcases Bryan's talent as a composer and producer. Give a listen if you're unfamiliar...like a new BOC album, music like this is welcome in my house!
