Someone posted these on the BÖC facebook group and I was wondering what they were used for?

there was a time when there were no cellulars... just phones and payphones... and with this prepaid card, you had basically a credit to phone...

Mhm, I remember when landlines and payphones were all we had. So these were specifically for the band to use? Just curious since there were evidently 41 of them made and I've never seen such cards before.

It's like a credit card but you could only pay for calls with it. The pic of the band was just a gimmick to sell it.

I've never had to use one myself. Evidently collecting rare ones is a hobby dubbed "fusilately" or "telegery". I wonder how many of the 41 BOC ones still exist today.

I have at least one of these calling cards somewhere too. I remember thinking WTF when I got it and saw how grainy the pic was on it.
Whats Bobby Pasta-nelli up to these days ? He is a funny guy.
Im thinking of designing BOC rolling papers for release soon. Early 70's band photo on the front flap..maybe the b/w water fountain shot..
"Dont Fear The Reefer" printed under the flap of course.
Ha.

does anyone else have the Cultosaurus Erectus Album cover bubble gum pack? Yep...thought I was the only one! I found it in a dusty and desolate second-hand store about 15 years ago. I hate to think what would happen if I was ever forced to choose between food and BOC collectibles. Thank goodness my kids are all grown up.
