I'm pondering the purchase of a keyboard workstation, for composing, not necessarily performing. It's been years since I've played piano, but now that I'm close to retirement I'm getting interested again. Anybody got advice? I'm guessing I should really get 88 keys (some even have authentic weighting) but other than that I'm exploring all options. Something like this, perhaps? usa.yamaha.com/products/music_production/synthesizers/moxf/index.html

I have a MOXF8 I use for gigging but it's a great all-around board for anything you'd need for songwriting. You should be able to find a lightly used one locally for about a K-note. That's what I did.
