Hey everyone... and Buck!
Wondering what people's good crowd stories are? Good or bad.
The one I remember:
1 was in Mattawa Ontario.. Guy showed up hammered, and screamed for Godzilla like every song. After they had played it, he continued yelling for it, and Eric acknowledged him , saying something to the effect of 'you silly idiot, we just played that!' He subsequently hurled and was kicked out.
Any goodies from ground level, or the eagle's pearch?

Some idiot lit up an ashcan (I think) at Commack on L.I. in '76 and Eric said "I want everybody to kick that guys ass" LOL

In March at the New York Society for Ethical Culture, some young guy who was very intoxicated got up in front of the stage and started dancing. Eric asked him, "Are you shitfaced?" and everyone laughed, then security led him back to his seat. That's about as wild as it gets, since I've only seen them twice so far.

My favorite is one Eric told me. After the Rangers won the Stanley Cup in '94, EB wore a Rangers jersey as his show attire. They played a show in Canada (The Rangers beat Vancouver in the finals), and a dude lost his mind when he saw what Eric was wearing, flipping him the bird and screaming at him throughout the first few songs before security dragged him out.
Let's Go, Rangers!

Big Rangers fan here, and luckily I was at Steven Wilson tonight and missed Game 5. Tall order now in front of us if we want to get back to the Finals...

The last time the band played in London was the Astoria (no longer there)and after the show Buck handed me one of his signature guitar picks, as he left the stage the crew entered and a mike tech kindly gave me the set list that was scotch taped to the stage behind Buck's mike. I held those two items like I was holding the Holy Grail and immediately repaired to the nearest pub for a drink. The bar was full of fans who were eager to see my treasures and like all BOC fans everyone was cool and friendly and chatting about the show. I left the bar and walked out on to Charing Cross Road and there was Buck walking casually through the crowded street, guitar case in hand taking in the scene. I approached him still incredulous that it was actually him and asked if he would sign the set list and my vintage BOC t-shirt but sadly I didn't have a pen and nor did he. He told me he was just walking up to his hotel and I still kick myself for just wishing him well and not offering to carry his case for him OR asking where he was staying so I could get his signature. As an educated and erudite man it is strange how one becomes a gibbering mess in the presence of greatness; maybe next time:-)

It wasn't THAT SWU - that Santa Barbara show was 1985 - though oddly, the band DID include Albert for that short tour... I bet that was a (nice) shock for all who attended...

Saw Soft White Underbelly at La Casa de la Raza in Santa Barbara in aught something something and a guy kept yelling for them to play JEAN CRAMPTON! My Dad was trying to explain my BÖC obsession with one of his co-workers some years ago. They weren't familiar with the band and asked what their famous songs were. The only two my Dad could remember were "Joan Collins Has Risen From the Grave" and "Puff the Magic Dragon."

I can't remember the year, they played Hayden, Idaho and some drunk chick with a black eye was dancing/moshing since before the music even started and kept yelling for BFY. They didn't even play it that night and she was pissed.

If so I was there. If you ever hear a recording of that particular show, you will hear the sound of someone freaking out when they start playing "7 Screaming Dizbusters" that someone being me. I am normally a fairly controlled person but I went ape shit when they started playing that song. I'd seen BOC 15 or so times over the years (since May 1978) and never heard my favourite BOC song played live until that night.

I'm not 100% as I'd seen Allen play with them at the Astoria before but I don't think he was with them:-( I was mistaken as the last time I saw them was at the Kentish Town Forum (2007?) and Allen defo didn't play at that show. Thanks for sharing your anecdote, I'd love to stumble over some recordings of the UK shows, I'm very tempted to go to the ramblin' man festival as Buck said there are no plans for any UK/European dates:-( but I can't see they would play for more than an hour which is kind of like someone opening the cookie jar and just as you get stuck in, they put the lid back. Sorry for the strange analogy, that's 2.30am musings for you! hahaha

I was at a show in Kokomo, Indiana. I had the VIP seats, since it had been years since I had seen BOC. At the end of the show Richie threw his pick right to me. I had it in my palm and my GF bumped me and it dropped on to the ground, since it was dark, I got my phone out to use the light on it to see better. Meanwhile this fat guy right next to me said here it is and reached down and grabbed it and held it up to my face. Then he looked me straight in the eyes and said,"it's mine now." I wanted to punch the moron, However I held my anger, though when it was all said and done, I told him, I hope you enjoy the pick you fat f%&k. Was really great to see them sing the Beach Boys song Kokomo, LOL, though, I think they only knew one verse
