I came across this video, and thought about sharing this, because while watching, I was particularly stunned by the skinny guitar Buck was playing. ^_^

Backpacker I think.Sounded great during the acoustic show-Gil Blanco during the 40th was memorable.BTW I dug Richies harmonica bits as the poor guy was trying to time it back at the piano. Was great but still gets a LOL.

Thought so, because I think I sat in front of Ron in Newton, and that was my stage angle, too (got lots of great pics that night).

Too bad the Port Washington acoustic show wasn't captured on tape. It was awesome and ranks in my top five BOC shows.

Maybe such an acoustic show happens again? Most likely the band had fun and hopefully perform some more. My dream show would be a half acoustic, half electric concert at the Tarrytown Music Hall! Convenient location for most of the band members and close enough for me to get to! Wish some concert promoters were in this forum.

I think there seems to be a spectrum as to what "acoustic" actually entails... I didn't see the BOC one, but I did once stand one foot away from Joe Bouchard at a BDS gig where he came out before the show with just an acoustic guitar and sat on a chair at the front of the stage and just strummed away for half-an-hour taking audience requests - mine was for "Hot Rails" - it was great...

I can't believe an acoustic BÖC show is controversial. Great musicians play great electric and acoustic. This isn't the MTV Unplugged fad era. It's a band many of us have followed since the early 70's and have seen many changes. Just like Buck and EB some of us fans are close or in that same age bracket. Something different from a band known for kicking butt electrically would be a treat. Just to see what electric songs they choose and arrange to do acoustically would be interesting to some of us. I can see some of the younger fans not being interested, but us long timers should cherish an opportunity.

At this point in time, I'm just desperate to hear ANYTHING different / new from BOC and Buck.

I really thought I would enjoy acoustic BOC but similar to Tom, it doesn't really do anything for me. We need those geetars plugged in!!

I'd enjoy it if it was properly acoustic - I don't just mean the same basic arrangements played on acoustic guitars - I mean actually re-done with acoustic instruments in mind - stick in a double bass, a mandolin, stuff like that - change things up and perhaps rediscover what's great about some of the songs - in that BTK clip earlier, Richie had a good idea with the harmonica (is there anything that bugger can't play??)
Talking of mandolin and double basses, here's an example of what I mean:
